Yamaha RX-A750

Hi Guys

Just got this amp a week ago and need to get the proper speakers for it. I have a Wharfdale 10 inch sub. I am looking to add 2 Soundstage 3D40's and Soundstage 3D10 center channel. As I am on a budget this setup will do for now. If you guys have can confirm this is the right setup, please do. Alternatively if you have any suggestions on different brands and models. go ahead.

Thanks in Advance

Used

I am also looking at a pair of used Athena FS-2. But not sure how they will perform with the Yamaha RX-a750. A little worried of the wattage being too low for the speakers.

I had a listen to the aforementioned soundstage speakers as well as the polk monitor 65. The soundstage were good. But after listening to the polk speakers. I am leaning towards the polk audio set. While the soundstage were crisp and clear. They were just a little too bright. The polk speakers were warmer and richer in sound. They performed well in stereo mode as well as in a 5.1 config. I did demo a kef bookshelf at around 500 for the pair. Sorry don't remember the model. I believe they were the Q300's. The sound was amazing, but out of my price range. Still have to consider the purchase of a center channel speaker.

Update: I went with the Polk Audio monitor 65 for front left and right. Also purchased the soundstage 3D10. They sound great but require the amp to be at about 65% of the max volume. Is this going to be stressful on the Yamaha RX A750 over longer periods of time? Say for movie or cable channel viewing.

Chane is what I'm using with my A750. Amazing quality for the $$. They have a good deal on Massdrop right now for both center and bookshelf. I have two bookshelf and a center.

Those won't stress your A750 at all unless you like it silly loud.
65% isn't that high.
Your powered subwoofer will take load off the passive speakers.
