To my knowledge nobody with them has chimed in to this thread.

You could put together your own 3010i 5.1 "plus' system right now using the SVS Sb1000 for just $1122.

Free returns on the sub if you buy from SVS direct.

$1072 if you buy this SB1000 open box from Crutchfield.

https://www.crutchfield.com/p_946SB1...Ash.html?cc=02

$1022 if you buy the RSL Speedwoofer instead which likely outperforms the new Q Acoustics sub as well and free returns if not happy.

One SVS member opined they preferred the RSL Speedwoofer to the SB1000 they owned for "punch."

For comparison the current Q Acoustics 3010i 5.1 system with the 3060 Sub is $1050.
Thank you for the advice!
I have a small NY apt. My room size is 11'x10' so the 3010i w/ a RSL Speedwoofer sounds perfect!
In mid to late 2020 I plan to get SVS height elevation speakers to complete a 5.1.4 system.
That should make a really nice compact system, no?

LG65C9, XBOX ONE X, PS4PRO, APPLE 4K, SONY STRDN1070, TAKE CLASSIC 5.1

Very nice indeed!

But you know, 3010i's mounted on their wall mounts up high aimed down like the SVS Elevation would work every bit as well and save you $228 over the black elevations and $428 off the white elevations.

So how do you like your 500s?

What did you have before or what did you compare them to?

Excellent; thanks.

Just looked up where you live.

Absolutely lovely place!

Never heard of it before, may have to visit one day.

https://www.lonelyplanet.com/estonia/tallinn

Hopefully the tourists aren't "destroying" it for the local residents as some think they are here in Wine Country north of San Francisco.

Personally I think it's fine but some always complain.

Concept 40 Black Friday

PSA: Q Acoustics told me the Concept 40s will go on discount from Dec 1st through the 15th. I'm not sure how much off they'll be, but my guess is 15% (same as concept 20).

That's still within my 30-day home trial period. I've written to them to see if they'd be willing to adjust the price I paid to reflect the sale. I hope they do.

Well, a couple of weeks in and I'm very happy with the 7000i package. But the "upgrade" bug continues..... a fool and his money eh???
I'm now in the process of swapping out my receiver, going from my Onkyo TX-L50 to a new Marantz NR1609 (I've got to stay slimline for various reasons).

https://www.homecinemachoice.com/con...eceiver-review

The new Marantz allows me to dip my toe into the Atmos waters, so I've also ordered a pair of Cambridge Audio Minx 12's for front height duties.
I would love to have installed "in ceiling speakers" but my DIY skills are not what they should be. These little fellas seem the ideal solution, remaining fairly discrete to appease a fussy wife.
We only have what would be classed as a "small/medium" sized room, and don't crank the volume up too high, so hopefully this little system will work well together.
Fingers crossed......

Will do Ray. Going to leave it until next Tuesday before I start the install. Got to bury a little of the speaker wire into the wall, and I've learnt that this sort of thing is best carried out whilst the wife isn't around (she'll be at work that day)......
I've also got to hope that she doesn't notice that the receiver has changed.....

This unboxing video might be helpful to you, esp. at the 5:05 mark. Seems the 3000i series speaker stands are designed to fit the 3020i. Enjoy your new QA speakers and speaker stands!

Dear Forum.

I would very much appreciate options on the options below for a 5.1.2 set up for the room set up shown in the picture below.

Option 1. Q Acoustic 7000i for Left, Right, Center, Left Surround, Right Surround and either Qi65CP or Qi80C ceiling speakers for Atmos.

Options 2. Q Acoustic 3020i for Left, Right, 3090Ci for Center, 7000i for Left & Right Surrounds and either Qi65CP or Qi80C ceiling speakers for Atmos.

Sub to be determined.

Thank you.

That's a reasonably large room so Option 2 makes more sense.

Do not buy a Q Acoustics subwoofer.

In the US there are many better options like those below and in many European countries SVS is now available.

PORTED SUBWOOFERS $600 AND BELOW, DELIVERED

NOTE:
*THE LARGER PORTED SUBS DELIVER AT LEAST 40% MORE SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL
THAN THE SAME BRAND'S SEALED VERSION WITH SAME SIZE WOOFER AND AMP
*IF LOOKING AT LARGER/MORE EXPENSIVE SUBWOOFERS ADD PSA TO THE LIST OF BRANDS
*IF YOU ARE NOT AN ACTION MOVIE FAN A SUBWOOFER WITH 22-30HZ EXTENSION WOULD BE FINE
*FOR MUSIC A 30HZ SUB IS A FINE CHOICE
*BEFORE BUYING MAKE A CARDBOARD CUTOUT OF THE SIZE OF THE SUB TO MAKE SURE IT IS NOT TOO LARGE FOR YOU
Specs are from the manufacturer unless noted otherwise.

Warranty
for AMP

2 years 350watts =15w16h17d= 40 lbs 10" [30hz] $399 RSL SPEEDWOOFER 10S, (extension from Sound & Vision review)

Hi gajCA.

Thank you very much for your reply!!

That is good news that you feel the option 2 makes more sense. I was concerned that the mixing of speakers would have a negative impact since they are not matched in terms of frequency, sensitivity, etc. and I wasn't sure if that would have a negative impact on creating a 3 dimensional soundstage.

I will do some research on those subs you referenced (thanks for those suggestions). I am based in Ireland so access to components would be similar to UK market. As such not all of those that are readily available in the US are as easy to get here. The SV subs do seem to be available though and I did see elsewhere others recommending the PB1000.

Please note I originally had provided some links below, however when I went to post I was informed that since I have less than 5 posts I can't post links or images (strange that I was able to post the picture of my room layout yesterday!). Anyways, BK Subs can be googled, etc.

Another sub manufacturer I am considering is BK Subwoofers.

There was a thread on AVForumms where the OP was asking about the combination of the same fronts as I mentioned in Option 2 (except with the original 3020 rather than 3020i), though I'd likely go with a different model of BK. In the case mentioned in that thread it seems a rep from Q Acoustics responded and voiced that the BK sub should be a very satisfying result.

Thank you again for your insight!!!

Look at XTZ subs. Good rep. Well reviewed here by Jim Wilson. Lots of tuning options to aid in proper integration. Probably your best "local" option.

I see the 10.17 Edge is on sale. Tons of power and extension to 20 Hz. The Edge version also has inboard DSP (It'll do pretty much everything except wash your dishes) :

There is also very highly praised Arendal subs from Norway
https://arendalsound.eu/1723-thx-series/
https://arendalsound.eu/1961-series/
And those looks stunning too!

I too was choosing between BK and XTZ. Went for BK p12-300SB-PR as performance in music was deciding factor for me. It is basically REL S5 copy and price for it is ridiculously low.

Man, I would sell you my Concept 20, Concept Center and BK (all white) if I'd new cheap way to send them from Estonia

What didn't you like about the Concept 20s?

BKE makes good subs, no question.

Q Acoustics Owner's Thread

The Q sale is on at least until tomorrow correct (cyber Monday)? If the PB1000 goes on sale tomorrow, I’m upgrading my 5.1 system. I’m be patient. The SVS is slightly better for movies and games than the RSL Speedwoofer 10S, correct?

That is the conclusion I have read; PB1000 better for movies, digs deeper, RSL Speedwoofer better for music, even more so than the SVS SB1000 based on one AVS member's conclusions at least.

Mind you the SVS PB12 has reappeared as it does this time of year and is superior to the PB1000 for the same price.

Thank you! The PB12 looks awesome but I fear it’s overkill for my small NY apt. My neighbors wouldn’t be too happy with me.

That's why you get the SB-12 instead.

The PB12 can be set to play at the same volume as the PB1000 but, no question, it is very very large.

Here are the sizes of four SVS subs you might be interested in.

The "S" means sealed the "P" in the model number means ported.

300watts =15w19h20d= 46 lbs 10" [18hz] $500 SVS PB1000, (extension from Sound & Vision Review)

400watts =17w21hx22d= 66 lbs 12" [19hz] $500 SVS PB12 NSD, (extension from Sound & Vision Review)

400watts =15w14h14d= 35 lbs 12" [21hz] $400 SVS SB12 NSD, (extension from Audioholics Review)

300watts =13w14h16d= 27 lbs 12" [23hz] $500 SVS SB1000, (extension from Sound & Vision)
