Post Looking for 5.2 or 7.1 or 7.2 Klipsch vs HSU vs Others

Hi All,

I am looking for an affordable 5.2 or 7.1 or 7.2 system for my living room. This is not a closed media room. it has a living and attached kitchen area.
Living =6120 Cu Ft, Kitchen Area=2300 Cu Ft. The Living area has 20ft H x 18ft w x 17 ft L
My budget starts from 1500$. If I can get a good system for mainly BluRay movies/TV/Netflix/Music.
I went through many posts and I am starting Klipsch RP-280F as my reference , I have listened to them and they are good. Don't know where I can get option to listen to HSU.

Do we have any other brand which are comparable to these products?
I saw this deal, is this ideal for my room size? Does tower vs book shelf makes difference compared to HSU?
SoundDistributor Deal Klipsch RP-280F 7.2

If you already listened to them and like what you heard, they're the right speakers for you. Generally the recomondation for mostly HT use is to get good bookshelf speakers and allocate the savings towards better subs. In that size room, I recommend an HSU VTF-3 MK5 for starters and add a 2nd if needed.

Yep. The biggest problem you will have with that large of a space is needing a big subs. Subs see the whole room, including adjacent open areas. That HSU VTF-3 MK5 is the minimum I would recommend.
