These would be nice in the my home theater I am building, but for now I will just stay with my KPS-400's and RC-3 center for my front's. They would be great behind a AT screen or off to the side behind hidden panels.

Could these be used as Dolby Atmos speakers on the ceiling or would that look weird?

Oh look! It's the Klipsch Gallery line-up, now with copper-colored drivers!

Klipsch did the exact same thing with the Icon SB-1...changed the color/finish and called it the R-20B. My recommendation...if you're in the market when these speakers come out, save yourself some money and buy the essentially identical Gallery equivalents which will almost certainly be available at blowout prices.

Is this a typo...

RP-440D-SB ($700) featuring three 3.5″ mid/woofers and three 1″ horn-loaded tweeters

...looks like there are four 3.5" mid/woofers.

Just a heads up.

These do look pretty nice and I have a small living room area that I have been looking for ideas and these might do it for me.

I'd go for the one on the right, three times for LCR, all vertical (no lobing or destructive interference patterns from D'Appolito) and placed equidistant behind an acoustically transparent screen. OTOH with a decent Atmos config like Yamaha provides you should be able to have your L+R speakers below the screen and Center above it and cover most of the image where people typically talk, with the rest of the coverage provided, of course, by the front height channels.

Doubtful, and even if they did, it's probably best to leave that to the subs.

I was wondering the same thing. They did bring a lot of cool new products to the show. Their integrated with the hypex ncore modules is going to get another look from me once all the specs are available.

If they don't play below 80hz then you can't use an 80hz crossover.

Some on AVS swear by higher crossover points which is fine if the sub crawl points to ideal sub placement being very near the front three but not so great if a far left or far right placement works best.

Has anyone got their hands of the Klipsch RP-440D SB and listened to them especially as a center replacement speaker. Anyone? Anywhere?
Crutchfield gives them 5 Stars!! [/SIZE]

Thanks for the information. I read the same announcement (as well as others) but no comments on how they sound other than from Crutchfield's site. I have submitted several questions on Crutchfield's site a few days ago but have yet to receive a reply. Fry's Electronics is the only place in Austin (that I know of) that stocks lots of Klipsch speakers and they have not seen the RP-440D-SB come through.
I think this new inventory from Klipsch hasn't reached our area yet. Going to Dallas soon so maybe someone there has demos. If any Dallas area folks know of a location that have the RP-440D-SB up for demo, please let me now.
Thanks again-

Would anyone here recommend the RP-440D soundbar? Or 2 L&R channel RP140D speakers?

I've never owned a soundbar before, and I need to upgrade. I need to replace a 10 year old Polk "all-in-the-box" RM7 series set, as they're starting to sound worn out and giving out a tinny quality. We have a small living room setup with a 42" TV and 2.1 stereo system hooked up to a Yamaha RX-V677 receiver. We sit about 7 feet from the TV. I'm trying to decide right now between the Klipsch RP-140Ds as a stereo system mounted to the side of the TV, or just going all in on their RP-440D sound bar underneath the TV. I've never owned a sound bar before, but like the idea that Klipsch makes a passive one that can connect to my receiver. Which scenario might you guys recommend?
