Major decision B&W 804s vs Paradigm Sig 8

Hey guys I'm finally buying my speakers and i was wondering what you guys thought about these two choices im stuck with
I have been looking for speakers for awhile now and the paradigm sig 8s are amazing
I loved the sound they put out, however the only problem I have is that they are phased out in production

For the exact same price I can get the B&W 804 d3's
The upside is that they are only two years old and wont be phased out for awhile
I have some friends who said they are amazing and that it would be silly for me to choose anything else at that price range and unfortunately for me i wont get to be able to listen to them until i buy them
due to store location ect

What do you guys think? How do they compare against each other?

I find the sound of the B&W's laid back in the top end compared to the Paradigms... Tough decision though, both are amazing sounding speakers...
I think Id lean toward the B&W's for a mostly music application, and if your looking to play movies/TV 50% of the time or more, then Id take the Paradigms for their more forward presentation in the top end...

People have been saying that the B&Ws are a little bright
I find the Paradigms borderline too bright, do you reckon that the 804 d3's sound even brighter than the Paradigm sig 8s?

Yes but in my opinion the Sig 8s are a lot better than the revel f208s.

You are correct, B&W's are far more laid back compared to Paradigms in the top end...

If you listen to the Vandersteen Treos, you will not look any further.

804s are plenty bright up top, can't imagine something brighter, ouch!

My vote is for the 804s between the 2. They're also aesthetically better TO ME Only drawback is that for the money, you'd expect a better low end response.

Aerial Acoustics/Anthem/JL Audio/Linn/Sony/Theta Digital
