Monitor Audio Unveils Platinum Series PL300 II Speakers at AXPONA 2017

Monitor Audio showed its newest speaker, the Platinum PL300 II, for the first time at AXPONA 2017. These are great speakers that did many things well. Follow the link to read more: Monitor Audio Platinum Series PL300 II Speakers Debut and Demo at AXPONA 2017

And, check out this video from the demo. Please note the MSRP is $14,500 and not $15,000. I was given multiple prices at the show, a side effect of it being a new product, I suppose. At least the final price turned out to be lower.

Visually they remind me of the original Energy Veritas V2.8's.

Stereophile gave these a glowing review and rated them as Class A restricted extreme LF.

Stereophile loved them indeed. Totally different speaker design but wondering how they compare vs the Martin Logan ESL 13a? Robert Duetsch of Sterophile liked them over the ML Montis...But the ESL 13a's are better than the Montis.

Just curious since these are in the same price range. Hard to find a dealer to demo though in my area (Dallas or Houston)

FWIW, these speakers look a lot better without the grille, I think MA really fumbled the grille design this time around...

I have the PL200IIs. When you see them in person, they are a really good looking speaker. The finish is sheer perfection. Where it counts, they are a darn nice sounding speaker too. This from someone who came from Magico S3s to the PL200 IIs.
