Should I notice this speaker upgrade

I currently have Infinity primus 360 floor standing speakers, with an upgraded beta C360 center speakers.

Don't think it matters, but I also have klipsch RP-250S side surround speakers that will be mounted a foot above ear level.

I have 2 infinity bookshelf speakers ceiling mounted in the rear and will have klipsch RP-140SA mounted on the front wall at the ceiling level.

I also have a SVS PC 13 Ultra sub to handle the deep bass.

Should I notice a big improvement if I replace the front three with Klipsch RP-280F floor speakers and timber matched RP-450C?

I would think so, yes. You can order them from the Best Buy website, so you'd be able to take them back to the store if you aren't impressed.

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

The Primus 360 measures very well, and is generally regarded as punching well above its weight. The Beta C360 is also a highly regarded center channel. The Klipsch RP series has also received nice reviews, and they're more efficient than your current Infinitys, so they should be able to play louder with the same amp.

You'd be going from three-ways to two-ways, but there's nothing inherently wrong with a good two-way design, though with a two-way center channel you'll have a smaller sweet spot than with your current three-way.

I imagine you'll hear a difference, whether or not it will be better I can't say.

If you do upgrade let me know if you would like to sell the Beta C360, I'm looking for one.

How do you like the Infinity's? The reason I ask is because I have 2 P363's and 3 P163's. To me, they do ok for HT, although dialogue is somewhat muddy. For music I just think they are blah. I have been considering trying out a different center, maybe the Klipsch RP-160m.

Thanks for the comments. After setting up my system for dolby atmos, and with my new yamaha a3070 receiver, it sounds really good for my room size. I'm not going to change any of the speakers. Just the addition of the two klipsch atmos speakers which I have added.

The dialogue is great with the Infinity Beta speaker. I had a primus center that was pretty bad, probably what you have now. I'm not going to try any klipsch center. I guess you should try a klipsch center and see if the timber match is ok for you.

You're using the third P163 as a center? I'd try one of these, it's a three-way sealed design, I have an older model line of one that's very similar and I find it great for dialog.

If you search on Craigslist or Ebay you may be able to find one of the older Infinity three-way centers for less. The Alpha, Beta, and Interlude three-way centers are all very similar designs. There's also a Kappa three-way center but it's ported, which may or may not be an issue depending on your placement, it is front-ported at least.

Yes, I am using a P163 as a center. Thank you for the suggestions. I will look around to see what I can find. There is a Beta center on ebay for $225, but the grill is beginning to separate. I have been thinking about upgrading all of my speakers anyway. I haven't decided on what yet, but am considering Klipsch, Revel, and SVS.
