I have a whole Paradigm setup based around the Monitor v.3 generation, and one of my tweeters is bad. (I've checked using my receiver's test tone and the RF does not match the LF.)
Per my local dealer, Paradigm says the tweeter is no longer available. But I've read here and on Home Theater Forum
that many of the Paradigm Monitor tweeters
(not the drivers) were sourced from the Danish company Vifa, and that the Vifa part is an OEM replacement.
Has anyone done a replacement of a Monitor v.3 series tweeter with a Vifa? I see several listed on parts-express.com and even Amazon, but not sure which one it takes. Paradigm's specs show it is a 1" (25mm) tweeter --- there look to be a couple of different Vifa available in 25 mm.
My Paradigm CC-270 v.3 center channel already had its tweeter replaced a few years ago, so if worst came to worst I can try transplanting that good tweeter into the 'bad' Right-Hand speaker, and picking up another CC on eBay.
(Kudos to user lawdogg who wrote up a great how-to
-- just want to see if I can get the parts!)
Any thoughts on the repair? Thanks!
