Best in ceiling speakers for LCR under $800 a unit

Hello, can anyone recommend in ceiling speakers under $800 a unit for LCR? The speakers will be about 11' in front of ears and ceilings are 9' high. Master bedroom is directly above the speakers.

Thank you in advance.

Are you absolutely sure you want to do in-ceilings for your FRONTS? They're passable for surrounds, but for fronts you are basically shooting yourself in the foot.

If it's a done deal, I'd look at the bigger MTM designs by JBL and NHT, google them.

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

At the very least get a real center channel as it does all the heavy lifting.

Not sure I'd spend more than this as these have received rave reviews from AVS members.

Looking for something with an angle or amiable for the fronts. Also enclosed.

The RSLs are angled; you could talk to them about back box solutions.

That is on the top of my list.

An installer just recommended the LCR.5S. Not sure if anyone can compare the LCR.5S to the Definitive Tech UIW RSS II's.

Golden Ear has gotten a lot of good press on their in-ceiling 7000 series, some even claiming that the sound does not appear like it's coming from the ceiling(?!) ... but check with GE to see if the listening distance is sufficient for the speakers to perform properly with those 11' ceilings.

Maybe you could check out the PSB C-LCR's. Here is the review from Hometheaterreview.com:

I believe these are right in your price range.

You want speakers that angle at least 30 degrees. Here's a post I wrote a while ago, look at post #5 and #7 .

The best I've heard so far in your price range are the Goldenear HTR-7000 and the B&W CCM Cinema 7. Would like to know what you went with and why..
