Paradigm Monitor SE 6000F Tower Speakers Review

Paradigm's Monitor SE 6000F towers bring great performance home for a very attractive price. There are few 3-way floorstander options this good (that I have heard) for under $1000/pair.

Thanks for the write-up Mark. Seeems like a reasonable price for Paradigm.

As a 20-year Paradigm owner (Studio series), I have always found them to provide great value at the price points.

Very few US dealers selling on line.

Interestingly it seems that there is a gloss white version available with no premium.

My local Paradigm dealer has told me that any dealer that sells on-line is likely not an official Paradigm dealer, and you would take your chances with them. Paradigm does not authorize on-line sales because it takes business away from their authorized dealers.

You can, however, buy directly from Paradigm on-line.

For me, I would never buy a speaker without listening to it first, and an easy way to do that is by going to a brick-and-mortar authorized dealer.

My HT and the thrill of getting new equipment.

I've always auditioned in home before buying except for my last purchase for my secondary room.

That worked out fine but took a lot of research and as it was only $400 not a huge risk for me.

Sadly the number of excellent brick and mortar independent hifi dealers that will allow you to bring home and audition the floor samples like I did for my towers are fewer and fewer.

Even they closed a few years back after 30+ years in business.

When I was in San Francisco visiting some friends we went to visit a nice brick and mortar in San Francisco called music lovers. I think they had two locations, was able to demo stuff at the down town store including some entry level and very high end stuff.

Don't know exactly how far that is for you.

50 miles or so.

The Paradigm dealer that was 12 miles away closed years ago.

My brother had Paradigm towers back in the day and they were very nice.

Ouch! Yeah it seems like outside of the major metropolitan areas the number of dealers with actual showrooms has been reduced to nothing. Now most of them are smaller custom integrators with at most a small office with a few products on display, mostly automation stuff.

Hello, Just getting started in building a home theater setup, I was looking at Klipsch RP 250 and 260 and came across this review, how would these Paradigm SE 6000F compare? Any thoughts?

These look promising.

Slowly upgrading my 10+ year old HT. I've had my Paradigm Titans V3 for about 10 years and have been thinking about upgrading to towers. I was set on the ELAC Uni-fi slims but this is making me think twice.

Unfortunately the 2 closest authorized dealers for Paradigm have both closed down and I can't audition them in person.

Any thoughts on how the ELACs would compare (paired with an Anthem MRX-520)?

Paradigm has screwed up their lines. I have own many paradigm speakers and still do. The original studio, monitor and performance lines were the best and most friendly for the wallet for different budgets. Over the years they have raised cost and eliminated the cheaper lines. The most recent monitor line-up (v7) is much better than the ones reviewed here , the current Monitor SE line.

you can still find new monitor v7 for sale from authorized online paradigm dealers

hi there. My home theatre consists of Paradigm Monitor 7 v6 for front along with a Paradigm CC390 and Monitor atoms v7 for surrounds and a SVS cylinder subwoofer! Love this thing...Now, I like the look (in white!) of the paradigm Monitor SW6000F...but how do these SE compare to my monitor 7 v6? I wish I could have afforded some Paradigm Studios back in the day but couldn't...I don't think my HT performance would improve if I bought a pair of SE monitors...oh...and I like the paradigm line...thoughts?
thanks

These look really good especially for the $$$$. How do you think these stack against the Q Accoustics 3000 series?

What did you get? I listened to the 6000f tonight and was blown away with how good they sounded for under $1K. The dealer i went to had one sales man who thinks they are better sounding than the premier series. I was going to compare these to the SVS prime towers but i am not expecting competition from the SVS prime towers.

I like the Monitor SE series better than Premier as well. PSB has a new Alpha line out, with Alpha T20 towers that are probably really good too, but I haven't heard them yet.

Funny I am still rocking my NHT SuperOne's and center. But i am 99% certain I will buy these 6000f speakers in the next month after my vacation. What NHT's are you rockin?

These Monitor SE's seem to be a great deal at less than $1K. One guy at the store said he preferred them to the premier series for sound.

I have SB1's for fronts, center and rears. I have been an NHT and PSB guy for years. I still love my set up, I'm just interested in a tower set up. Might give these to my son. So many great choices of speakers out there.

I bought these for my left and right paired with the 2000 center channel. They sound awesome especially when paired with the 2 subs. Without the subs they sounded a little to bright for me, but when I added the subs it was all good.

I bought them too and was thinking the same thing except i went from a lack of mid bass so for now i don't notice it. I would love to have compared them to the step down model 3000F but no dealers near me had them for demo. I am sure ARC can help tune them down if needed.

BTW, i am in love with these speakers, the imaging is a huge step up from my old NHT's and the sound does feel balanced to me and effortless. I am very happy with my purchase.
