$400-600/pair In-Wall LR Mains Recommendations?

Going for a clean look in a Bedroom and Den with a flush wall mount on the TV and all components in an adjoining AV closet. Was considering the Elacs or Revels, but in wall reviews are basically non existent. Not really sure what else is out there or how much they are, many brands don't seem to publish prices and only sell through independent pro dealers/installers. Are there significant gains stepping up to this price bracket with in-walls, or would I do just as well with a ~$200/pair of Polks or RSL's, or hell even Monoprice's $100/pair? Looking for any pointers, thoughts, or advice, thanks for the help.

Thanks for the Axiom link Smith. I'm not really sure how to even go about researching or buying Triads, their site doesn't seem to have a retailer or dealer search? Google led me to a Control4 buyout, and their dealer search pages finds satellite, security system, and home automation installers. I don't get the impression they'd be interested in a customer like me anyways. I know I'm looking at budget gear here, just wanting the best bang for buck.

Where do you live?

I'm at CEDIA right now so I can't respond as quickly as I normally would.

you can also check out the RSL W26's. They can't keep their in ceiling speakers in stock because they are so popular but there aren't too many reviews on their in wall option. Worth calling them to find out about them. All of their other speakers are highly regarded and they have excellent customer service. They in walls are way under you budget as well.

Thanks Rgarc, yes I am aware of them. That's why I was asking in the OP if stepping up tier(s) that's double or triple the price of something like RSL's is actually worth it (i.e. significant SQ gains), particularly for these infinite baffle designs. I've got no idea, no one really reviews or compares these things so it feels like I'm buying blind. Bizarrely the best buying tool seems to be Crutchfield's sound comparator where presumably recorded under like-for-like conditions, the differences in sound signature seems substantial across different makes/models.

Orta,

It’s a mixed bag for sure. It depends on driver and crossover quality as well as the framing.

Honestly that RSL looks very similar to other speakers I’ve seen. Being internet direct they cut out the middle guy (AKA dealer).

I have what I consider a nice setup since I’m in the biz in a minimal way. Some visit me and go holy cow and others are happy with a Vizio Sound bar.

It depends on your priorities. Speakers are normally 50-60% of a small system build.
