Praise da Lawd! So nice to come across someone who has a REALISTIC idea of just how much loudness they really need, for a change. From reading this forum sometimes you could come away thinking that everyone is out to shake the paint off their walls, LOL

A pair of Emotiva T1s + 2 pairs of B1 bookshelves for surrounds would run you just $1300 shipped, as long as you're ok with their aesthetics.

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

Thanks for clarifying.

Maybe the Elac Debut 2.0s are worth a look with free returns; easy to drive, free returns at Best Buy.

Polk Signatures as well.

Yes the Elac sale pricing is very attractive which is why I was considering them. I have already caught the Uni-fi Towers for $329/ea and the Books for $350/pr. I expect the Debut 2.0's to go pretty low as Holiday sales start approaching, probably $150/200pr the Books and $150/200ea on the towers (5" and 6" respectively). Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the 6.2's hit $150.
