Paradigm vs SVS

Hi everyone, I’m thinking of upgrading my paradigm studio 40’s and studio CC for a pair of SVS Ultra book shelf speakers and matching center. Do you guys think it’s worth the upgrade? My speakers are mint and they are being driven by a Marantz SR7012. Bass is provided by 3 servo 15v2’s. Thanks

looking at the specs , i kind of doubt it's much of an upgrade.. svs tend to be a little overpriced(imo) .. so don't let "the latest thing" sway you too much.. others will know your speakers better than i , and may have better thoughts..

Paradigm is offering a 20% savings for speaker trade up right now. You could look into the Prestige 75F and 45C depending on your budget. Not inexpensive, but they are quite good. Do you have a local dealer? The trade up is limited to towers though. If you want to stay with bookshelves, there is the Prestige 15B. Based on what I've read from Studio owners that have switched to Prestige, it is an upgrade, but these are a lot pricier than the SVS.

7.2.4 System: Display: Sony XBR-65X930D; Processing: Anthem AVM60

Definitive Technology DI8R; Amplification: Class D Audio SDS-470C (4ch. x 300w)
Subwoofers:

No, very unlikely. Especially if HT rather than music listening is your main usage.

For just a little bit over the cost of the Ultras you can get this which would probably be a bigger upgrade esp. for music:
http://www.ascendacoustics.com/Merch...ry_Code=BSTOCK
http://www.ascendacoustics.com/pages...SRM2/srm2.html

(I've bought B-stock from Ascend before and they were in like-new condition, which makes me suspect they're just heavily discounted A-stock.)

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

Though I doubt the Ultra's will beat the Studios, you may prefer the sound characteristics. SVS does offer a 45 risk free trial with shipping covered both ways. You could order a pair of Ultra bookshelves and let your ears decide.

Kef LS50,Q200C, Q100, Kef Kube 10B (X2) , Denon AVR-X3400H, Panasonic 50" Plasma, Xbox One.
Bedroom: Kef Q100 ,JBL Loft 20, SVS SB-2000, Denon AVR-S710W, PS3, 32" Insigna LED.

What pase22 said, order the SVS, audition them and go from there.

I say stick with Paradigm until you are ready to jump a class up in speakers.
