I didn't have them both at the same time but both are laid back speakers which is why I went with the LS50s. I think the Q150 are really good budget speakers but probably not worth 550 a pair. The Mini Phils have a more solid cabinet and sounded good, didn't really do anything wrong but again they were a bit laid back for my tastes and most importantly I didn't think the RAAL tweeter was that special to pay that kind of money for. It wouldn't be a bad shootout to get both and see what you think though.

Thank you for your response! How did you find the imaging and soundstage of the Mini Phils?

When I tried the LS50's and Q150's, I thought both of them sounded bigger than they looked!

I have B&W 705 S2 and they are really great. Not the most accurate speakers in the world, but really engaging!

"Best Bookshelf $1000 - $3000"

Why stop at $3000?

The real question is: Why spend big bucks on petite fidelity?

The Buchardt 400's are tempting. Kind of drawn or at least open to skipping the mainstream brands. Mixed results over the years but so rewarding when you come across a real gem.

Thank you for this suggestion. I was blown away by these speakers. I actually just emailed back and forth with the CEO, Mads Buchardt. He said that to get 100% out of these speakers, you want to shoot for 120W per channel. However, many do very well with less. For me, these are going to be featured in my listening room. Ill be opting for a solid state rated at 120W per channel.

Ill be ordering this week. Ill follow up with a review on these speakers. The trial for 30 days is a great option, and a remarkable gesture of faith on Buchardts part. I dont even plan on taking advantage of this program, but its comforting to know that its available.

There is nothing you can learn about how a speaker sounds from a you tube video except the opinion of the author of the you tube video...so hopefully not!
