Front & center recommendations please
Hello all & thank you for the very helpful & informative forum!
I am a long time lurker & have started to dive into expanding & improving my low quality home audio setup.
The advice I am looking for is for a new set of FRONT FLOOR STANDING speakers w/ a center channel to accompany them.
My budget will be between 3 and 4 thousand once all is said and done.
As of this time I currently have an Anthem MRX 720 driving 3 Paradigm Elite E80-A in ceiling speakers for the front stage. My current sub is a SVS SB16 Ultra.
I have finally convinced the 'better half' to allow set of towers along w/ a true center channel. Looks will be of small concern, as she will not want something too crazy looking. But i'm more concerned w/ sound!
My only local home theater shop seems to push a lot of Paradigm for the 'lower' price point(thus my choice in the in ceilings I currently have), the model he recommended during my last visit was the Prestige 85F. While they sounded great in his demo, it was a totally different room than mine & obviously better power & calibration than what is @ my home. Everything else he recommended/carries is WAY out of my price range, where the 85F along w/ the matching 55C center is a few grand out of my range. I have been to Best Buy & seen a few of the B&W, but am convinced I can rely on you all for better suggestions!
I have read numerous reviews & threads on here & w/ no way of demoing anything am hoping for some added opinions.
My listening is probably 60% movies & 40% music. Most movies I tend to lean toward action & music is usually anything from blues to heavy metal. Generally it is some form of rock music, whether classic or heavy.
My room is 13x13 w/ 9ft ceilings. The real issue w/ sound staging is the rear of the room, it is open to the rest of the house after a recent kitchen remodel(I will try & attach an image).
I feel getting a good front stage & having it down on the ground especially, will help in my lack of 'volume' I seem to desire.
Thanks for any help & opinions!
