I just added more pics of the finished space. I'm actually using zero gravity chairs for two reasons. Almost no furniture will fit up the old 1890 staircase and I can also take the screen and chairs outside for outdoor cinema in the summer.

More photos in the original post. I played around with some small speakers last night on how things look. Mounting them on the angled ceiling won't really work. It will impact the usage of the room too much. Anything on the sides would have to mount on the short knee walls and be angled up a touch to the listening position. I may have a little flexibility in the back of the room. I was also thinking floorstanders for the front, but maybe I could mount them to the sides of the screen. What do you all think?

you can get a new- open box denon 4400h for 800$ from a couple authorized dealers on ebay. It does 9 channels out of the box and if ever want do 11 channels down the road you can add a external 2 channel amp and do 11 channels. It should have any feature looking for and Its a great receiver i have one.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to try and get the x4400h. I forgot that I have an old Rotel RB-1050 2-channel amp sitting around doing nothing that I can use.

Update

After thinking and considering my options, I think I'm going to try and go for 7.x.4. I can go for a Denon x4400h and use my old Rotel amp to get to 11 channels for not too much money. I'm going to make another post looking for speaker suggestions.
