Worth upgrading to floorstanders from bookshelves + dual subs?

I have 2 klipsch rp160m’s paired with 2 SVS pb2000’s in a 12x13x9 room. I recently was playing with the Klipsch demo unit at Best Buy and compared bookshelves to some floorstanders, and the difference was pretty significant. That got me thinking about my setup. Would swapping my fronts for something like the RP280f’s make a difference if I already have subs taking up the low end slack? I’m mainly a movies/tv listener.

Side by side comparing a bookshelf to a tower sharing the same tweeter and dual larger woofers without a subwoofer in play would result in a "significant difference."

With the subs in play not so much unless the bookshelf, for example, were 2 way and the tower version was 3 way and then the case for going with the tower instead would be more compelling IMHO.

In that size room with 2 subs and no critical music listening, you'd be wasting your money. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, go with higher end bookshelf speakers. Then again for movies and TV, not really necessary unless you're not satisfied with your current setup.

Kef Q100 FL/FR,SL/SR, Q200C, SVS SB-2000, Denon AVR-X3400H, , Panasonic 50" Plasma, Xbox One.
Bedroom: JBL Loft 50 , Loft 20, Bic F-12, Denon AVR-S710W, PS3, 32" Insigna LED.

No. No. No.

There is nothing to be gained except wasting money and space.

If you're dating a 5 and want to date a 8 why not?

Go for it!!

Size of room don't matter here its about what you want. Towers are more dynamic I went from books to towers and will never go back to books
But again, I have a larger room

Im just trying to get you to spend more money to help with my own speaker splurge problems so Im not the only degen on this board
