Looking for value in-walls

My original plans to use my existing Chane speakers in our bedroom is a no-go for some physical layout issues.

So I am looking at doing in-walls. This is mostly for background music, but, even so, I'd like to get some good sound out of them. Extended high end is essential, but if they are shrill, that is a deal killer.

Current ones I am looking at include:
  • Polk 265-RTs
  • Hsu HIW-1s
And others in that price range of <$300 a pair. I am brand agnostic - if a cheap Monoprice or Micca speaker sounds better, I'll get that. If DIYSG Volt-8s are the way to go (don't seem to be set up for in-wall usage), I'll do that.

Any other suggestions, any clear winners?

These are from a well regarded company on AVS but no AVS feedback that I can find though RSL says they voice match to their CG3/CG23 lineup which is quite promising.

Free returns if not happy.

Only problem is they are priced so LOW that I'm guessing many are put off by that!

I have RSL CE34s in my home theater so no idea why I didn't think about them.

I see you have the very intriguing to me Salk Veracity STs for music.

Not to derail your thread but how do you like them?

Do they really dip into the mid 30hz range?

2.0 or 2.1?

I always had them paired with an SVS sub for low end duty, so I never really listened to them for low extension.

They are great speakers - of the kind that disappear and you almost forget why they are so good until you hear others and go hmmm...
