need bedroom 3.0 setup recommendations

denon x3300, tcl 65r615 and hsu vtf2 mk5

99% for bluray/4k movies. id like something lively, fun and slightly bright but not ear piercing. i like a bit of volume, sensitivity in the upper 80s to 90

looking at ascend 340s, raal tweeter speakers but from what i read they are a bit mellow for movies. not sure id like that
also looking at emotiva t1, t2 and the center

any other recommendations?
budget for 3.0 is approx 1K

Emotiva t1 and a c2 center would put you under 1k. The c2 is large but if you have the room for it it definitely worth it. Would say T2 since you dont plan on a subwoofer, they would put you over 1k though with a C1 or C2.

Slightly bright, but not piercing I'd look at Klipsch RP, Paradigm Monitor and Kef Q series. Klipsch & Paradigm would have the edge on sensitivity.

Kef Q100 FL/FR,SL/SR, Q200C, SVS SB-2000, Denon AVR-X3400H, , Panasonic 50" Plasma, Xbox One.
Bedroom: JBL Loft 50 , Loft 20, Bic F-12, Denon AVR-S710W, PS3, 32" Insigna LED.

If dynamics are your thing, then I would avoid the ribbon options (including the RAAL). Metal dome tweeters or horns would probably give you more of what you are looking for in a sound signature. Check out PSA.

It's a VIRTUAL channel unless stated otherwise.

Infinity has the Reference line currently on sale for 50% off or more. A pair of the R253 towers would be $400 and the matching RC263 is $200. Very well regarded speakers and well under your budget.

For the record, the Ascend 340 does not have a raal tweeter, although from what I have read it is neutral and maybe not the slightly bright that the OP has stated he is looking for.

I do agree that a raal would not be ideal. Being new to the raal recently, I do love it, but wouldn’t justify the generally higher price for almost exclusive TV/HT use

ascends that i know of use soft domes(lower tier speakers).. and they handle volume well imo..

Yeah. I believe the Lunas and Sierra-2s are the only Ascend bookshelves with the raal.

The OP says he wants slightly bright and lively. Makes me think of our old kef q100s, although pushing the high volume levels is where they can start to sound harsh to some. Also, they probably wouldn’t be so great in 3.0. They work best with a sub.

i thought about the q100's too , then i thought about the limited spl handling.. ascend would be better.. i have the cbm 170's , they handle volume well..chane might have something that would work as well..

I’d take a look at the Monitor Audio Bronze speakers, they are a touch bright and should suit your taste well.

The Bronze 2 Bookshelves and center will set you back $800.

530 was going to be my recommendation... not as efficient as I remember them being, but should still be plenty for a bedroom. They've been harder to find lately, but JBL has them back for $300/pair right now. The 520 center doesn't look to currently be available from JBL direct, but it's much easier to find in general than the 530s these days and will likely come back in stock at JBL sooner rather than later.

Do you have a single main listening position that's fairly well centered between the L/R speakers? If so, a center channel may really be superfluous.

havent received any speakers yet of course but now im thinking of returning the center, order another pair of 530s and use one as a center. i can make it work by angling it toward ear level off the ground at mlp but id have an extra 530

would this be a better idea than using the 520

if you have the room to use the 530 vertically , it would be better , imo

i would think you could get a taker pretty easy if you can find somebody close enough to keep shipping cost down... i think you made a good call , i have vertical books as centers in both my set ups, i have no issues at all..
