Small Floorstander?

I'm looking for suggestions for a small floorstander that's small/light enough to be moved in and out for listening sessions. The listening position would be in the middle of at 25x20 space, so they would be far from the back wall. I'm looking for something balanced and on the warm side of neutral, hopefully not bass shy like a monitor. I use Herron M1A amps and I listen to all kinds of music from Jazz to Rap except not any rock. Budget is up to $5k used.

The Canton Vento 876 is one of the lightest nice towers that could be moved fairly easily at 33lbs. KEF R700 or Focal Aria 926 come in around 55lbs. very nice tweeter on the Vento.

Sierra Tower is 44lbs, and fairly petite.

$2900 shipped with the RAAL upgrade and a nice wood veneer finish.

KEF R5, fairly small/light and sounds great. Dynaudio Evoke 50 - sounds amazing, but might be larger than the KEF

Magnepan's new LRS speaker, but you will need to pair with a sub, preferably a sealed sub. Doesn't get any easier to move than this!

https://www.magnepan.com/model_LRS

6 week lead time on these, they are so popular! See the last few pages of the Magnepan thread for further info.

It's a VIRTUAL channel unless stated otherwise.

Both good suggestions

On sale the Dynaudio X38 or X34 (for a very small tower) could be nice too.

These have been getting rave reviews, from everyone who has heard them - regardless of price point.

How kid friendly are the Maggie’s? I always wonder if they need to be treated with kid gloves, or if the ribbon is well protected

Might be able to find them used, or splurge a bit more for new. Might be worth an audition if you can find them in your area....

A nice pair of Audio Physic Virgo speakers might fit the bill.

Yes it’s insane, but their sound generally defies what’s possible from the driver size. That said, I always found them to be be a bit too lively, and wondered if that would be fatiguing after a while.

Revel F208 or F206. I have F208's and move them around without much trouble, just don't use the spikes.

Center of the room is not a good choice for listening position, it's a bass null.

If you pay $5K for a speaker, it could get to be too big to move easily.

Neither of those would I classify as small, especially the 208

What’s next? Place the little Cubesats from Bose on the floor and call them “very small floorstanders”?

Too bad the original poster disappeared. Hopefully he will show back up.

These are 33lbs so I win

The Canton Vento 876 is one of the lightest nice towers that could be moved fairly easily at 33lbs. Very nice tweeter on the Vento.

Yes and no.

If the OP has heard them by all means get them.

Unlike the $75/pair to return towers that don't suit your taste to Crutchfield, returning towers to A4L will cost $160 in restocking (10 percent) plus your actual cost to have them shipped to you plus what it costs to return them.

So, for me, it would likely run closer to $500 (31%) to return those $1600/pr towers as I'm on the West Coast and they are on the East Cost.

And that's assuming A4L doesn't deem they have been damaged by me auditioning them!

All joking aside, if you put the S400 on stands (as they should be), they will sound like floorstanding speakers. Not the only speaker in this category, but one of the more notable (and compact).
