Suggestions LCR under $4k

I was set on Ascend Sierra Towers w Raals after listening to them at a friend's Home Theater. But the truth is I have not really been able to try any other models.

I was hoping to get some suggestions from the pros here on 3 LCRs for $4k or under for a dedicated Home Theater.

This will be 90% movies (including watching a lot of music concerts) and 10% Music/Live Sports/etc...

One row of 4 seats in a 16 x 24 room. Amp is an Emotiva XPA-11 Gen 3.

The Ascend Towers with Raal’s May be good for music, but I’m not sure if they are the best choice for a theater scenario.

You might want to look to something with a bit more force like Klipsch RF7iii’s.

Leave it at 8 ohms and call it a day :)

The RF7 III are above my budget ….when you add a center, this goes well above $4k.....

Also, what is the deal with 10" woofers on LCRs when most of time I will be crossing over to subs at 80HZ? A little overkill? I'm not an expert by any means....but just wondering why go so big on LCR woofers?

For 90% movies under $4K, you’d be hard pressed to beat PSA for a L/C/R combo; three MTM-210T are $3,225.

I’ve seen plenty of people get that combo for $4000 or less. It’s only like a 30% discount needed.

Well to begin, an 80hz crossover isn’t a brick wall, in fact it extends down to well below 80hz before it becomes negligible. So smoother crossover.

Increased power handling.

Improved efficiency. So you can hit THX Reference at your listening position without stressing every component in your system.

More mid bass I guess.

Have a listen and hear for yourself.

Not to mention 80hz crossover isn’t permanent. You can do a 60hz, 40hz, even 20hz crossover, whatever you feel sounds the best, and going lower does remove any possible subwoofer localization.

Leave it at 8 ohms and call it a day :)

I like these along with the Klipsch RP series. You are also in the ballpark for Revel Speakers, Kef, and PSB.

What sub do you have OP?

Under 4k budget, nothing comes close to the PSA option. 8 ohm, 98 dB efficient speaker means they require ten times less power than typical low efficiency speakers. Clean, accurate, low distortion, amazing dynamics. Dual 10" woofers allow ultra low distortion that little 6" woofers just can't approach.

Didn't realize they were 16" Deep and 11" wide....those are monster speakers....

While those would be nice, I need a little slimmer towers if possible.

Too bad you couldn't fit the JTR Noesis 228HTs...

You can also look at the JTR Single 8HTs.

Get 3 JTR Single 8HTs and 2 other JTR 8HT variants for just a little over $4000 after discounts for multiples...

Or get 3 JTR Single 8HTs and put the leftover towards better subs...

FS: Jamo C103, KEF Q100 and Polk RTiA3
