Revel Concerta vs Revel Performa3 (Convince Me)

I'm going to buy a 3.0 system *LR and Center. I am leaning towards Concerta because they are a bit less expensive and ive heard them on crutchfields audio demo and they are a bit less full which im okay with as well. I actually like brighter speakers. So I am set to buy these unless someone here tells me to definitely save up for the performa line. Does anyone have any advice on these 2 models?

You may ask this question in the Revel Owners thread. There are a lot of Revel experts and owners there, many also worked in designing Revel speakers.

that’s an impossible question to answer really. It depends on what your comfortable
spending, and how far into diminishing returns you’re willing to go

the most im willing to spend is as much as the performas3.
As far as diminishing and returns I dont know but if i saw a 5% upgrade in sound I would go with the performas. But.. if it was just stronger bass and louder I would just go with concertas. Im a clarity guy for home theater because I have trouble with dialog so the more clarity the better for me.

I heard the 206 and F35s and really didn’t notice a big drop from the performas to the concertas. If I was buying Revel I think I’d go with the Concertas. Bass was fine with the concertas also.

That has more to do with room acoustics and the type of room correction your running vs the speaker make and model. If you are running Audyssey full-range, i.e. without the app where you can limit the correction range, try turning Audyssey off and see if your dialog intelligibility improves. Audyssey full-range caused a lot of dialog issues in my room. Sometimes room correction can cause more damage than good. Regardless of the type, try turning it off and see if it helps.

In that case, maybe look at concerts L/R and a c208 center

i would like to hear that I'm just worried that the timbre matching would be kinda off with the L/R

Revel voices their lines similarity so timbre match should be good.

(I used a voice2 with a f206 without any noticeable effects)

Little to no chance you would notice an appreciable difference; the Revel 'neutral voicing' is present throughout all of their lines. I personally use my Revel M16s with an Emotiva C2 center and they sound fantastic together.
