Front Floor Standing Speakers < $800

Reposting cause I couldn't change the title and the question has changed.

For mixed-use but mostly HT (80%) and some music (20%) which speakers would you recommend under $800, open to ones outside of the list below.

The current ones I'm looking at in no particular order are:
ELAC Debut 2.0 F6.2
Airmotiv T2
Airmotiv T1
Klipsch R-625FA
ELAC Uni-fi UF5

My current set up is:
Receiver Yamaha RX-V675 7.2
Infinity Bookshelf fronts (looking for a replacement)
Polk Center (old don't remember the model)
Rears Klipsch Synergy S-10
Subwoofer Rythmik LV12R

I gotta say the T2’s. Especially since they are on close out.

Where else can you get an three way tower with an AMT tweeter and dual 8” woofers?

If you can push your budget a little higher, currently the JBL 590’s are on sale right now, 50% off, putting the total price at $1000/pr, with free shipping, and free return shipping if you don’t like them!

I think if the JBL sale is still on you should add the Studio 580 to that list.

From that list, I'd take the T2 by a country mile. Even at its pre-closeout normal price of $1K it was already a great bargain.

I'd eliminate the Klipsch and both ELACs.

Although I think with only 20% music use, your biggest upgrade would be replacing the center since the center is what does 70-90% of the output during HT/TV.

With that in mind, I'd put the $800 into 3 x Chane A2.4 speakers (they currently have a bundle discount for 3 which totals less than $800) or 3 x Ascend 340SE.

If you absolutely must have towers, then the Emotiva T1 for $500 and just wait for the larger C2 center to come back in stock, or call and ask if they have any "factory renewed" models.

These JBL A170s might be worth a look, free return shipping is hard to resist and they're sold singly so you might even be able to get a 3rd one as your center if possible.

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

Only the 590s are, but at $500 apiece they're over his budget.

Thanks all, digesting all that info. I am open to ones not on the list.

Looks somewhat consistent T2 are solid. And the Studio 590s are a great deal at 50% off.

I am open to bookshelfs but felt towers were generally better.

Another brand just showed up on research - Tekton. Looks like only a couple models fit my budget. Any chance Lore Reference compare to the Studio 590s?

I was actually milliseconds away from buying the Tekton Lore's $1K, ended up with Tekton Enzo XLs at $1,700 /pr
Based on what I'm experiencing with the Tekton's I think they offer good value BUT I will say since I have the Emotiva T2s also, the T2s are a very good value proposition at $799
JBL 590s get rave reviews also

If your room is on the smaller side I'd go for the Tektons
on the bigger side than the Emo T2s

Also as @Zorba922 stated the Chane's A2.4s are very good speakers and really have no glaring weaknesses but they are bookshelves and you want Towers

The room is small 14' x 18' and I think I'm down to 2 options thanks to both @Zorba922 & @mpk1970 .

@Zorba922 thanks for the emphasis on the center, it's made me rethink the whole purchase.

1. 2 x T1 & C2
2. 3 x Chane's A2.4s

Gonna dig in some more tomorrow. I would prefer towers but if it's a bad move won't force it

I’d go with the Chanes, I own a pair of the A1.4 and they are seriously good speakers. Three matching speakers across the front makes for a very cohesive sound stage.

One note: The C2 is currently listed as "unavailable" on the Chane website. Emotiva is rolling out an updated version of their Airmotiv speakers, hence the closeout bargains...so when the v2 of C2 gets in stock a few months from now it will probably be at or above its normal $399 price.

The other thing is, the Chanes are likely to be easier for your Yamaha 672 to drive, especially if you like to listen at high volumes.

So if you're not deadset on towers, I'd have to agree with Trans and say get the Chanes so you'll have a complete front stage right now.

@mariogonzalezzz I called Harmon Audio and after some haggling got a 20% code, they offered 10% out the gate. Amazing!

Now between the JBL 580 and T2 at about the same price are the JBLs the move?

After sleeping on it, I am good with dropping $800ish on fronts. I can come back to the center channel in a few months for C2 or another recommendation. The current center is Polk CS 100

Thanks all!

Of those two be aware that the C2 center is no longer available from Emotiva, so will have to wait for its replacement, and JBL does not offer anything but a very small center for the 5 series.

So if you want some decent mid bass warmth from you center forget the JBLs.

This ^^^!

Wouldn't need to upgrade the AVR as the Yamaha will easily drive the Chanes. With that nice Rhythmik sub in play, there really isn't much need for towers. A 2nd LV12F can always be added later.

Thanks all!
Id do the Emotiva T2 between these two 100%
Then in a couple months you have the very good C2 center which will make your system very good--the C2 center I would bet is much better than any center JBL has to match with their 580/590 towers

I don't know why JBL didn't make a larger 6" based center.

i think you mean the 590s which are on sale, the 580s are full price right now

that jbl 520c sounds very good in my setup (530s, though) crossed at 80 and it regularly goes on sale for $150
