Large space 9k+ cubic feet

I want to put in some speakers for 5.1 or 5.2 system in this space. 16 feet wide, 34 feet long, and 18 foot ceiling that is vaulted on the long side towards the side of the house on one side and open to the upstairs hallway on the other. The hallway is open on the other side to the foryer that also opens to the room via it’s own hallway. Also have a kitchenette seating area on one end. But the main area is about 9700 cubic feet of space.

Tv/speakers on one end on a short wall
Viewing area 15 feet back

Goals:
Clear dialogue
Rich but not overpowering sound for movies/tv/sports/music

So far I have picked:
Pair of Klipsch rp-8000f and a to-504c
Pair of musiccast 20’s for the rear to use occasionally
Yamaha rx-a2080 to power it

And trying to decide on a sub arrangement:
Pair of Hsu vtf-15h
Or
Single pb16-ultra

Critique and other ideas are welcome

With capable subs the RP6000F would be fine if you want a slightly smaller form factor.

Definitely two subs instead of one.

Klipsch is a good place to start due to free returns at Best Buy or inexpensive returns at Crutchfield and the fact that they don't need a lot of power to put out high volume levels.

Not sure if the Musicast speakers can keep up but if easy to return worth trying.

Chane A5.4, A2.4 center, surrounds wait on their new release ...

These should give you plenty of volume in that giant space and not lose their composure. Will easily meet both of your stated goals.

You will need multiple large subs, from HSU, Rythmik, etc. Start with two, go from there.

For the front end, I would consider separates, maybe from Outlaw Audio? In that large room, having plenty of available power is a plus, especially if you will be listening from a distance, at a dining room table or kitchen bar area ....

It's a VIRTUAL channel unless stated otherwise.

The size of the room mainly affects your choice of SUBWOOFER(s). I'd go with a pair of VTF-15H over a single PB16 all day long.

Those Klipsch RP are a good bet; you can always get Best Buy to pricematch Amazon, so that you can easily return them just in case you don't like them.

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

Finally ordered some gear

After lots of listening, I finally got an order in. Once it is all together I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks for the suggestions.

What did you end up getting? Klipsch and HSU sub or SVS sub?

I’m late here, but was going to recommend Dali for wide sound stage and vocal clarity. Definitely agree on sub recommendations above. Let us know what you went with and more importantly, how you’re liking it!

I went a different direction after listening some more. Ended up with B&W 702 S2 mains, HTM71S2 center, and a pair of GoldenEar SuperSub XXLs, an Integra DRX-5.3, and a Rotel RB-1582mkii amp. (And I picked up a Sony 75" x950g along the way, getting lossless audio from Netflix is kind of cool).

Spent part of today getting it tuned in a little better. So far I love it.
