Definitive Technology BP9080

Quick questions about the LFE INPUT (OPTIONAL) connection on the back of each speaker. If you don't use the LFE INPUT (OPTIONAL), does the subwoofer still work for a 2 channel music listening? Or the powered subwoofer will not work unless you use the LFE INPUT (OPTIONAL) connection on the back of the speaker?

I am trying to figure out if I can use these speakers without the powered subwoofer. Just use them as full-range speakers with the subwoofer but no powered subwoofer connection.

Thanks for any advice!

That's a great question, I have the older 8060. I know I have tried them and they do work without the LFE connected. But not sure if the new ones have that aswell. But I am curious now to put my receiver in full range on those without LFE.

They are meant to work without the LFE in, so feel free to use them for 2.0 listening.

Leave it at 8 ohms and call it a day :)

Or you can do a Pure Direct mode from your receiver.

I will try this tomorrow and test. Never thought of doing this, I am always missing mid bass and hopefully the subs take that task as these 4" cannot do.
