I put in the first 5 minutes of Blade Runner and holy crap this is HUGE! The sounds coming way up high...ATMOS, finally! I can't imagine having in ceiling speakers if these work this well.
I'm glad i read about these the other day as i was looking for front heights speakers.

I was worried when i put them up they were facing straight out, and not anywhere facing towards the center spot...man the sound coming from them!

I have the crossovers set at 80 Hz like the rest of my speakers...is that good or should they be higher? I set my Atmos upfires to 160 Hz and 200 Hz...should i be going that high with these?
Upfiring speakers have been noted to be essentially useless by a few people.

With a frequency response as low as 55Hz, an 80Hz crossover should be fine afaik.

I would leave it, personally.

I have four of these as Atmos speakers. I really like them. I've since upgraded my fronts and am in the process of upgrading center and surrounds. No plans to change my elevation speakers. They are out of the way, sturdily installed, do a great job, and I don't think anything in it's price range would do a significantly better job for it's purpose.

The one thing I will say is I recently got my first experience with Atmos in a dedicated theater with in-ceiling Atmos and I feel like it really does help to have them coming from more overhead. Mine are setup as top front and top back. Mine are on the side walls. If I can one day update and get in-ceilings, I would consider it.

My guess is you should set crossovers slightly higher than surrounds and don't higher the gain too much on them.

Glad you are enjoying them!

im using these in our bedroom for atmos mounted above the bed on the ceiling and they sound pretty good. Might pick up some more for surrounds.
