Av receiver for Kef q650c and kef Q100 3.0 setup

I just purchased a kef q650c as a center to go with my Kef Q150. I am currently using a basic Yamaha vx383bl 5.1 receiver. Do you think I can run the 3.0 setup with my current reciever? If not do you have any suggestions for an upgrade at a budget with a 5.1 channel? Thanks!

Probably, yes, as long as you’re not intending on listening at ear-bleeding volume levels.

KEF has told me that you ideally want to be in the upper 3rd of the speaker’s amp requirements, but they also said that you can have a lower WPC amp if you’re not going to listen at very loud volume levels.

I think you’d have to crank it pretty high before it becomes a problem.

Probably not. For the same reason. There's a math equation somewhere that tells you just how much power your AVR is consuming at specific dB levels, and most people (especially those who sit closer - I, for example, sit about 6 feet away from my speakers) don't even consume 1 watt's worth of power. I think it would still take a massive crank of your volume level before it becomes a problem even with adding a pair of Q100s.

Unfortunately, I do not know what the math is on the division of watts per channel it ends up being if you, say, run a 5.1 system on a 70wpc into 8ohms at 2ch AVR.
