Which is better

I'm hardly an audio enthusiast and am just looking for a 5.1 or 5.1.2 speakers set that would sound better than a soundbar. I missed the opportunity to by the sony when it was several hundred dollars cheaper but I'm just wondering if the Polk's are better.

Thanks to all who respond.

Of those two..Polk. I have T-50's, T-15's and the Sony towers in various spots around the house. Not in the main room. If you can ride it out a little, both of those are on sale frequently. I think my Sony's were 50% sale at BB. Same with the Polk. Watch for awhile and you will see the trends. Of course Amazon dropping it off on your front porch in a couple days is pretty enticing. That Sony price seems a little high? It is...

"The Camelizer", add on for Firefox. Much more history info that is not shown in the thumbnail. Works great.

For Denon X4500H. You can set alerts for when something hits a certain price.

$1200 to $1500 including the receiver. i'm looking for a simple 5.1.2 speaker system, preferably from the same manufacturer. nothing complicated or overpowering. i get easily confused when i start reading about how to set up these advanced speaker systems and pairing them with a competent receiver/ amplifier. i can only do upfiring atmos speakers that are placed on top of fronts or rears (not sure which is better).
