Looking for an affordable 5.1.2/5.1 spekers system

Hi!

I need help to build a suitable (and affordable) speakers system for a Denon AVR-X2600H

Requirements:
- Budget: 300-600€ (yes, I'm european XD)
- Channels: 5.1.2 with upfiring spekers (it would bea great) or 5.1 (with planned update to 5.1.2)
- Sizes: bookshelf front/surround (the more compact the better)
- Wall mountable

Can someone help me? The budget can increase for something really worth.

PS: What do you think about Onkyo SKS-HT588? This is extremely cheap and I've read some good reviews.

Thanks.

That receiver should work fine.

This is a stunning deal; maybe they can ship to you as you are not in the UK and can't find the same deal in your Country.

But this might be closer to what you really want in terms of size.

This is very interesting, but I'm afraid they don't ship out of UK (I sent an email just to ask).

I can buy this set on amazon.it for about 800€; on this price range (I think I have to increase my planned budget xD) what do you think about this set?

Klipsch Reference theater pack #1064177 (I can't post links yet)

I can buy it from amazon.it too for the same price.

While I'm not a fan of Klipsch, that setup has received some good reviews and is on a few recommended lists.

here is another option that may work for you. A lot of people were raving about these a while back in the forum.

These are limited in absolute volume, but fulfills the size and wall mount requirements. If you are not looking to shake the walls (and the space is relatively small), this may work out for you (assuming you can get it in your country).

There is also this well regarded option:

one more (latest version minx min 12 and x201 sub):

I'd actually take a look at the Canton offerings in Italy on Amazon.

In white or black.

Whichever is the best and still within your budget.

The 365 is better than the 265 which is better than the 165 which is better than the 95 which is better than the 75.

Amazon.it has a really limited selection. Do you have a friend living in a country that they do ship to? He could then ship to you? That QA 3000i package deal might make the additional shipping charges worth it. Alternatively, keep the shipping charges reasonable by getting the QA 7000i or the MA package (smaller & lighter).

The Canton Chrono line is very good. 502's , 526, or 536
The lower price GLE line is pretty good too. GLE 436 and 455 center

With that budget and living in Europe, I would just buy one pair of these:
https://www.amazon.it/Wharfedale-Dia...dp/B00OHHF37C/

And two of these:
https://www.amazon.it/Yamaha-KS-SW10.../dp/B077P94NFT

And forget about surround sound and Atmos until you can save up more money in the future.

Quality over quantity!

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

Confused. Aren't the Canton's available to you? You asked which models and I answered.

You won't be disappointed with the recommendations already made. Qacoustics, Wharfedale's or the Canton's. All nice sounding speakers.

This may be a good option, and economical as well:

Considering sizes, the need of a wall mount, prices and availability in my country, these are my options:
  • Canton Movie 365 (579€)
  • Canton Movie 265 (489€)*
  • Wharfedale DX-2 (400€)
  • Focal 5.1 Pack Sib (700€)
  • Klipsch Reference Theater Pack (840€)**

*They seems very similar to 365, but a bit smaller in size
**They continues to intrigue me, are they worth the price?

Which of these are the best in terms of value/price ratio?

Customer reviews of the Klipsch system are favorable on Crutchfield which are reliable as are the pro reviews but this review on Sound & Vision does indeed confirm the rising treble which many don't like but some do.

The subwoofer seems excellent though.

It would likely work best in a room with a lot of soft materials in it; carpet, fabric sofa/chairs, drapes.

Great review! The "plastic coloured sound" scares me a bit.

Yeah, that and the chart would lead me to Canton but no question the Klipsch sub over delivers.

Hi guys! Thanks to black friday week, I can buy the Canton Movie 265 for about 130€ less than the Canton Movie 365 (my target).

Do you think it's worth to pay these extra euros for the 365? The specs are the same except for SPL (85db vs 86db) an dimensions (265 smaller).

It's very weird as the two systems appear to have IDENTICAL specifications except the 365 cabinets are larger but the specs for frequency response are the same as are the number and type of drivers.

I'd expect the larger cabinets to give more midrange/upper bass.

Do not worry so much about the specs -- the larger ones will have more fullness to the tonal sound, and more radiating area for the soundstage
