quality wise probably next level up.. so *if* you think you *need*an upgrade than it may well be worth it, but if you can go up a couple levels it will probably save money in the long run( if you delete your avs account )...

Find good measurement data on both speakers. If they measure better, they should sound better. What is the intended use? How far do you sit from the speakers? What is the loudest you would like to ever listen?

Only in the mid-bass department if you're comparing them in 2.0 (no sub).

For mids and highs, I'd be surprised if there was any significant upgrade unless you simply prefer stronger treble.

Will be curious to read about your impressions, though!

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

Are you sure you bought a pair? $465 tax in sound like the price for one 🤔

Maybe he meant 703's? I do see a single 705 at Adorama in VG condition for $289.

ADS L710 / KEF Q150 / HIFIMAN HE400i / Martin Logan Dynamo 300
NAD 720Bee / Schiit Modi 3 / Yamaha CD-S300 / XBOX One X

The Polk LSiM's will give you that - the Emotivas will sound more tame by comparison.

I have the T1’s and am posting the Audyssey XT32 measurements for my setup. Not REW measurements but can be used as a gauge. I also will post the 703 Stereophile measurements. Assuming the 703’s have a similar crossover to the 705’s then you will see an elevated upper treble response as I could not find measurements for the 705’s. Given the price you paid for the 705’s and if you like brighter treble then you have made a good choice. Also the Polk’s are better looking speakers if that matters.

Yes - and keep in mind that is directly on-axis. The tweeter on the LSiM line is flat at 15 degrees off-axis, and falls off rapidly starting at 7 kHz beyond 30 degrees off-axis, as seen here:

This will sound different than a speaker that emits more high-frequency sound to its sides.

Lsim sounded somewhat harsh and edgy for me and were quite directional while there are more spaciousness with revels. Revels may sound even more unforgivable and hard on poorly mastered material with excessive mids/highs. F208s have some built-in means to tame or raise highs though
