Very quick feedback needed please - Polk Audio CS10 Center or Polk Signature S35?

Need urgent feedback please...
Front, i bought 2 TSi300 & center CS10. Tried it for few hours & i still have a chance to return to buy Signature front & then Signature S35 center.
So, does it make a difference between CS10 & Signature S35?

thanks in advance

I used to have Polk CS10 center; it’s not good compared to most centers. Was one of Polks worst speakers so I imagine Signature Line must be better

Primary set-up 5.1.4; Yamaha A2050, Paired w/Parasound P5 & ATI 522NC 2 channel amp
Revel F206 fronts & Revel M16 rears; Outlaw X12 Sub & 4 RSL C34e in-ceilings

Secondary 5.1: Denon S900W, Polk LSiM703/704C, Polk RC80i in-ceiling rears, RSL Speedwoofer 10s

CS10 is utter garbage.

S35 is ok, clearer but tiny woofers = male voices can sound like chipmunk androids.

S30 would be better if staying with Polk for the center. You CAN use a mismatched center, btw...just ignore the "timbre match" folklore.

The center does 70-80% of the HT output so this is where you least want to compromise.

Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

If you can swing it the Polk LSiM 704C is an excellent 3 way center. Top of their line.

Interesting...
S30 is actually cheaper than S35
So, blindly, i ll buy S30?
Sorry but if someone could please recommend a good Center speaker from https://www.visions.ca/category-home/368/home_audio much appreciated
Visions.ca usually gives me good deal on prices and hence...please...

If you have to get it from visions.ca then get the S30. Should work well for you.

Yes, I have a full Polk Signature set and tested s35 vs s30. The s30 is wonderful for TV/movies/HT. I don't need a sub because of the s30. If you have to select between these 3, the s30 it is.
The s30 is cheaper and even needs less power to sound better than s35

S30 appears to be the best available at a reasonable price there.

The KEF centers are probably better but pricing is outrageous.

A BIG THANKS to you all experts out here...
Also, on 2 Front speakers, I bought/tested 2 Front TSi300 ones & not super happy..
Can you please recommend the best Polk tower speakers from below?

https://www.visions.ca/catalogue/cat...159&brandId=64

I was thinking about "Polk Signature American HiFi Home Theater Tower Speakers - Washed Black Walnut - Pair (S50)"
and then
S30 center speaker.

FYI, i already got "Polk Audio 10" 200 Watt HTS Powered Subwoofer (HTS10)".
Hope this is good enough & i definitely dont want to annoy my neighbour

TSi series are considered poor. I was not happy with the Polk s50 (for music, they did not play well at lower volumes and when given less power, not enough midbass). I've heard on AVS that s55 is much better. Why not consider bookshelves since you have a sub? I have Polk's s15s (again, for music they don't play well for me at low volumes and not enough midbass; but when given enough power, they suddenly sound very good; to sound good they have to be given enough power, such that the SPL is 75 dB about 10' away; for HT, they are good at all volumes). The s30 as I said before is great.

Yes the S50 would be an improvement over the TSi which are a pretty crappy budget series. In this case, you do get what you pay for.

I'd get at least the HTS12 if you're going to get a Polk sub. Don't worry about your neighbors, that's what the "Gain" knob on the back of every subwoofer is for.

My sister in laws TSi Towers and CS10 center sounded horrible but it wasn't the speakers, it was the setting in the receiver that were messing them up.

Audyssey had set the front three as follows:

"large" w/ 40hz crossover, Dynamic EQ "on" and Audyssey to left/right bypass.

Changing to the following made an astonishing difference.

"small" w/ 80hz crossover, Dynamic EQ "off" and Audyssey to reference.

YMMV.

OK, not familiar with Yamaha settings but hopefully you tested them all as "small" with an 80hz crossover to a sub.

I have the S60's and that would be my recommendation. I paid $698 for the pair at visions 6 months ago. I also have a pair of HTS12s. Very capable sub for the $348 each I paid, also at visions (lowest price of the year was $299 at Best Buy a few months ago). Ask the visions sales rep if he can match these prices. He may not be able to right now (based on his costs) but he may be able to offer an additional discount.

You can also go with the S20's for your fronts. Also very capable and with the HTS12's you wont be lacking anything.

Marantz SR7013, Polk Signature S60s/S30/S15s/HTS12s, Polk MC80 (x4), AC Infinity T9/S9, AAB4 HTPC,...still to come - Panasonic DP-UB820K, 82" 4K QLED or eqv.

The S55 is said to be the best of the S series towers but a bit more $$

I'd have to disagree. The larger cones and extra driver on the s60 give it a depth that the s55 can't match. Especially evident when I listen to music in 2 channel pure direct

not sure why exactly some say S30 sounds better than S35 but S35 blows me away. May be if i compare both, i realize...i dont know....

WTF! You got $1900 worth of speakers for $700? Are you sure it wasn't after credit from the returned speakers and the difference was $700? If you actually scored that deal, then nice going! 👍

You might as well order an S30 and try them both out at home. That way you'll never wonder what if. I must admit though, the s35 is a sexy little center.

And with all of the money you saved, go pick up an HTS12 (or 2). At this rate, you'll probably get them at $250 each 😡

Plenty of folks on AVS like the s35 as well, and some even prefer its sound to s30. I prefer the s30 sound but not its size and looks. If I were to buy again, I might just get the s35. In my smaller room the sounds are almost the same but s30 size is ugly. Looks like a jeep drove into my house through the wall.

Largely due to the woofer size of the S30 compared to the S35 even though there are more of them in the S35. Male voices in particular might sound a bit on the thin side on the S35 in comparison.
