New front speakers budget 4000USD/pair

Hello

I am in search of a par of new front speakers. Budget 4000-4300 a pair.
I want some that are more musical than my klipsch rf83.
Movies and music are 50/50.

Have an offer for a pair of new goldenear triton one (not one R) for approx 4300 USD.

Triton on R has come out and the original triton one are now six years of age. Does this matter?

Thanks for input 🙂

Klipsch RF-83 Front, Klipsch RC-64 Center, Klipsch RS-62 Surround, Bryston 4B SST (2x300W 8 ohm), Klipsch R-115SW (Sub), Yamaha RX-A1030

I think there’s a lot of other choices for better music then GE. I’ve heard them all and felt they were all much better at HT then music. YMMV.

What would I suggest based on what I’ve have experience with in no particular order;
Salk Song 3
Dynaudio Evoke 30
Monitor Audio Silver 300/500
Dali Speakers
Totem
Sonus Faber
Kef

Dynaudio Contour 20, Focus 210C, DM 2/6, Hsu VTF3 MK5 HP, Oppo BDP-103, Naim Uniti Star, Marantz SR5010, 60" 4K Samsung LED LCD, XBOX ONE S

I’ll throw the Ascend Acoustics towers in the mix. My preference would be with the RAAL tweeter.

Subwoofers: Dual Rythmik FV18
Speakers: L/R Ascend Acoustics Sierra 2EX - Center - Horizon w/RAAL Surrounds: Sonance VP62R SST/SUR. Vinyl:Rega Planar 3/Ascend Sierra 2
Video: Sony XBR65X900e 65" 4K - Sony UBP-X800 Blu Ray
Power and Processing: Yamaha RXA1030 - Monolith 7X Amp - Minidsp 2X4 HD/WI-DG

JBL L100 Classics are alot of fun and come in right at your price point. There are a number of reviews of them online.

Mostly classic rock. Some new.
I have heard ribbon tweeters are the best for music true or false?

Not necessarily - I’ve heard lots of ribbons and prefer soft dome tweeters. Many like metallic tweeters too. Just depends what appeals to you!
AMT tweeters to me are terrible. Most true ribbons are very good and I like those. I like Magnepans but not Martin Logan (well I liked the CLX but not any others), metal tweeters have a ringing sound to me or sound bright, however some like totem and PMC do sound very good. Soft domes sound smooth and the right ones very good, however ones on speakers like Polk are terrible, IMO.

Some good suggestions here.

It would help your decision process to go listen. Could be you will like one implementation over all others. Maybe you'll like horns, or maybe soft dome tweeters will be your thing. If nothing else it will help you understand what's out there and aid in narrowing the list of candidates solutions.

Good luck and enjoy the journey.

While Norway does not appear to have a home grown speaker brand Denmark has two excellent ones that likely are available to you; Dali and Dynaudio.

Being in Norway, you should be able to find Dynaudio and Dali speakers. I'd take any of their stuff over the Golden Ears. It won't be hard to find more musical speakers than your old Klipsch.

Also, see if Q Acoustics and Wharfedale are available.

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

Canton Vento line with its ceramic tweeter is excellent for music and they are made in Germany so hopefully available.

Interestingly the well known Seas drivers used in MANY quality loudspeakers are made in Norway.

They do make speaker kits, (but not the cabinets), but no loudspeakers.

Any specific reason you only want fronts? IMO 5.1 gives a much fuller sound than 2.0. A good sub will blow away any fronts for <80Hz IMO.

Thumbs up

I remember hearing Penaudio Speakers that are built in Norway. Have you checked them out? When I heard them they were quite good and beautifully built.
