Triangle Borea BR03 (should be getting more attention)

Check out these reviews:

-$500 bookshelf
-Shawn from zero fidelity claims "best speaker under $1000"
-Thomas prefers them to the Polk LSiM703's

These will definitely be next on my list!
Anyone have any experience with them?

http://electronicsforless.ca/ is the only Canadian seller so far

The center channel seems to be a bargain too!

This is useful info, thanks!

Especially (at the risk of being off topic) since it's hard to find online retailers for Totem that will actually ship, and not be in-store only.

Within the next week, actually! We decided to swap rooms - what's normally a second bedroom is being used as our TV room while the main living room area is currently being used as a studio. I'm not doing any large-ish painting anymore, so we're swapping the rooms back to what they were originally. The last bit of stuff I needed to start that process arrived today. Once I've purged a whole lot of stuff, we'll start moving things around.

Here are some more triangle speaker reviews:

I'm actually baffled as to why there's next to no discussion on a brand that seems to offer a ton of value/performance at a reasonable price.

i love youtube reviews but also understand that these reviewers get all the stuff for free and have short time before have to send it to next reviewer. now if a youtuber actually buys one and replaces his old speakers...that gets my attention.

There's certain channels that sound like a giant commercial/ad for XXXX brand but I won't name them out of respect for those individuals. They're easy to spot though lol.
  • Thomas & Stereo buy's or borrows all his equipment (he has a circle of rich audiophile friends, lucky him)
  • The Next Best Thing Studio (NBT) buy most of their equipment but i think they're starting to receive review samples.(new"ish" channel)
  • Shawn from zero fidelity is pretty damn transparent but he does get review samples.
  • Steve Guttenberg is... well he's Steve lol (100% review samples) He's entertaining though!

I also hold more value to people like Thomas and Jay from (NBT) who's had experience with several 100's of difference speakers/amplifiers and buy most of their equipment.

VS

Online opinions who only have experience with a 2-3 speakers or youtube channels who continually review the same company.

Some forum members experience may come close but that's incredibly rare, In most cases they're just copy/pasting something they've read in another forum/thread without any real experience. So I agree youtube reviews aren't the best but they're better than 95% of online opinions which often end up "My favorite brand VS Your favorite Brand" argument.

I use to have heavy bias towards certain speakers/brands but I've recently made a 180 effort to be more open minded. I think most people do as well if they're being honest.

shawn does some great stuff. thomas gets me confused...he owns focals but complains he doesnt like metal dome tweeters...then gets some polks and loves them...confusing. plus he doesnt measure anything so his opinions all over the map.

I just impulse bought a denfrips dac off some youtube vids, so I find youtube a great resource. just skeptical. think we all should be a lil skeptical. most gear sounds good honestly.

$549/air, no??

Very interesting speaker and the well priced center has a raised tweeter which is nice.

I believe that is the per pair price, yes. They run for $599 CDN wherever I've looked since this was posted.

The center is very well priced !
They appear to be incredibly easy to drive ad well.

Its not very often a bookshelf can reproduce bass that you can feel in your chest, especially at this price point!

Shawn & thomas also mentioned on top of being easy to drive/not fussy that you will get rewarded with better gear which is another + at this price point
