On ceiling active monitors as Atmos heights

I'm adding 6 height channels to my current 7.2 system. I'm thinking of using something like JBL Professional 305P/306P/308P MkII, Yamaha HS5/7, TANNOY REVEAL 502/601 or something similar. I need to use on ceiling mounting due to the room configuration. I understand that using active monitors means that I need to drug supply power cables in addition to signal ones.
I like a concept of active speakers (or at least active crossovers + separate amps) in general and it seems to me that these active monitors may give me a decent price/performance for the application.
My current speakers are triamped Magnepan 3.6 + III for LCR and sides, Klipsch KSB 2.1 for back and dual SVS Ultra subs. The room is about 21'*18'*8' with a lot of sound traps.

Any reason why I shouldn't do it this way?

Thanks!

So, you have a receiver/processor that produces 13 channels of output (7.x.6), but only 7 amplified?

It's a VIRTUAL channel unless stated otherwise.

No, I have 9 class A amps based on Krell KSA100 for 3-amping LCR + 4 Emotiva monoblocks for sides and rear

Seems you want more control over the speakers, but I think you would be better off doing that externally to the speakers. Lots of options to do that. Easier to deal with a single unit than six separate speakers, plus you won't have to bother running additional power lines.

That said, if you are intrigued by a powered option, then go for it and let us know how it turns out.
