What don't you like or would like improved?

Are you just looking for a different sound? Going to be hard to beat the T1's for under 1K.

Do you have a subwoofer?

And to echo what @pase22 said - you probably won't find much outside of the Emotivas for less than $1k - DCM is the only thing that comes to mind.

Are you 100% set on it being floorstanding? What's your room size? Distance sitting away from the speakers?

An option could be a pair of Ascend CMT-340 SE: http://www.ascendacoustics.com/pages...m/cmt340m.html

Ascend is a top-notch ID company. You're going to get way more speaker per dollar than going with something like Focal, B&W, Monitor, ML, etc...

These Chanes could be an option as well: https://www.chanemusiccinema.com/ind...product_id=196 however, they're ribbon tweeters.

personally , and this is just thinking out loud , i don't think you are going to get a significant upgrade at under $1000.. why not try to go "the extra yard" and save a bit and maybe try some ascend sierra towers or the 2ex .. you might get a significant upgrade in sq trying some $1000 level books (nht c3, sierra 1, dynaudio emit 10 or 20, ect.).. but trying other $900 floorstanders is going to be trading one set of problem for another set...jmo, ymmv .. best of luck ....

Focal wouldn't be a bad choice, especially if you know you like their sound.

Since you have a decent sub, you should go down to BB and listen to KEF LS50's. Detail and clarity and overall resolution would be a step up and they would be in budget.

For $200.00 more you can get Canton Chrono SL 596 DC (599.99 ea @ A4L) which will easily smoke your Emotivas (Definitely more for your money).
https://www.accessories4less.com/mak...ck-each/1.html

If you want bookshelves.....Canton Vento, Canton Chrono SL, Canton Chrono, or Kef.....all at A4L.

A quote from Zorba922 (Anyone compared Emotiva T2+C2 vs Chane A5. 5 +2.4? post #6 )
"I'd put the Chane and Emotiva speakers neck and neck---can't go wrong with either"

So don't bother with Chane....it will be more of the same.

I prefer the DCM TFE60 over the Focal and JBL Studio 530 -- I would put DCM on a short list ... the seller is a good one

I don't think Chane is the same as Emotiva, so ignore that. You can scratch Chane off of your list if you're not a fan of the ribbon tweeter, though.

So far, there are no bad choices. You couldn't go wrong with Ascend, Focal, Chane, Canton, etc... Even KEF Q350s or 150s could be a decent choice.

According to the research I did (on here and elsewhere), the Emotivas are really, really good speakers at their price point. I was guided more towards Chanes (A5.4s) because the Emotivas are 4 ohm and the Chanes are purported to hold their composure better at high volumes. So while some called it a toss-up (including the very knowledgeable @Zorba922 , others thought the Chanes were a slight step up and added top-end smoothness (ribbon tweeter).

I will say I've never read a comment from anyone saying they didn't like the Chanes, and that the "openness" and clarity they provide at their price point are stellar. For more info, check out the Chane link in my signature (it includes links to lots of shootouts/comparison threads), or go query Jon Lane (owner of Chane) on the Chane owners thread.

I couldn't be happier with my A5.4s, but my in-person listening experience is limited.

If tight bass is the top priority, look at Dynaudio products.

Yes, they should be only above his budget by a small amount and are a legitimately good speaker.

I like the recommendation above about saving up. However, if you’re looking to liven up the sound (note that it might not necessarily tighten up the bass) you can get close to $1K on my Dali Zensors 7s. I have to say these are fun.

Would also look at Monitor SE 6000F for $1K, but I tend to like a bigger sound. The bass will be tighter here but not as full at your T1s.

Main 7.1 HT: Dali Zensor (7s, Vokal, and 1s), Emotiva E2s, HSU ULS-15 MK2, Emotiva BasX preamp/amps (MC-700, A-300, A-500)
Kid’s 5.1 HT: Dali Oberon (5s, Vokal), RSL C34Es, HSU VTF-2 MK5, Denon X2400H
7-Zone CCA/Spotify WHA: Paradigm (E-80Rs x6, P-80SM), Def Tech AW6500s, Polk MC-80, Emotiva BasX amps (A-700, A-500), FiiO D3 DACs

Klipsch RP8000F. Can be had under $800 if bought from a dealer.
JBL Stage A190. $700 from various online dealers. (this speaker retails for 4 times more outside of North America, i have no idea why)
Both are efficient (in room 98db and 97db) and moderate impedance drops, should get you to reference with midrange avrs.

Screen: Elite Aeon, 138-inch 2.35:1, Subwoofer: Rythmik FV18 ALC
Speakers: Klipsch Forte III LCR, Surrounds: Klipsch RP 502s
AVR: Yamaha RX-A3080, Projector: Sony 695ES
Media: nVidia Shield Pro running custom Kodi api with 72tb Media Storage
