Speakers for Atmos Sound Effects - Mounted on ceiling

What are some of the better options for mounting speakers on the ceiling to get the atmos sound effects?

I am trying to avoid the in-ceiling speakers as I will be moving location in about a year and it might not be an easy option at the new location to install in-ceiling speakers

my current HT set up has 3 JBL 590s as LCR, Monoprice 12" sub...and am yet to get the surrounds

Thanks in advance!

I use JBL N24's for surround and ceiling. Sound great with my other JBL's.

Since those are no longer available, possibly JBL Monitor's, as they are about the same size and use the same ceiling mount.

How did you mount yours to the ceiling?
Did you position them flat faced or angled towards the seating area?

This is the mount kit I used:

https://www.jbl.com/studio-monitor-c...s/MTC-2P.html?
Since I have an A-Frame wood ceiling, my rear (or surrounds) are mounted at the base of the ceiling, pointed towards the MLP, which is about 7 feet above the ground. My overheads (Atmos) are mounted on the A-Frame center beam, pointed towards the MLP, which is about 15 feet above the ground.

Sure...where did you mount these?
High on the wall? or on the ceiling?

Hi, @vizag

I use 4 of these, and work very well for ceiling mounting duty;
https://www.svsound.com/products/prime-elevation

If you need some tips, to install them. Visit my Theater page on my Signature, on page 3. The diagram on post 81 was for two different angles, for different ceiling joist.
Some pictures, throughout that same page for the speakers been mounted.

High on the wall The photo was when I was running the XS. I have since replaced them with the larger model - because I had them. I have a matching set on the wall above the couch. Sorry no photo.

Thanks

The Elevation, come with a template. And those lines, was me drawing on of them. Since I wanted the speakers to be at 45 degrees angle for the front ones, and 225 for the rear ones. To use the center of the joist, for two solid screws at an angle.
