Clearly I would prefer 7.1.4 (I have the 9 channel AVR) but my couch recliner unit is close to back wall so as not to intrude on walk lane thru the room. This will force the atmos and rears to be very close together. I have no issue ceiling mounting the atmos or positioning the rears. Just concerned they will be too close and disrupt the imaging.
I plan to use DIYSG Volt 6 or 8 as atmos in ceiling and as surrounds. Attached is the view of my room and the options. Appreciate any help.
Move the couch up a few feet and go 5.1.4. The additional cost of an 11 channel AVR isn't really worth it for what the 2 additional surrounds add to the mix. If you can't move the couch up, you could still do 5.1.4, but maybe less effective.
