Elevated side surround speakers in 7.1.4 atmos
I’m running into a placement issue with my speakers. I’m planning on using KEF in wall speakers for front LCR, side surround speakers and ceiling atmos speakers. For the rear speakers, will use a pair of KEF bookshelf speakers.
The issue is the side surround speakers. Because of a window on the one side, there is limited wall space. The limited wall space will be covered in part by curtains for the window as well as a movie poster.
So my options are (1) place the speaker behind the curtain, perhaps moving the curtain out of the way when we’re actually watching a movie or just hoping the EQ can compensate enough. (2) Use something like the prime elevation speaker, angled downward, or (3) just go with a 5.1.4 set up rather than a 7.1.4 setup.
