Need help upgrading center

Looking to upgrade my center. It's a open room 28x12x9. Used for Tv, games , and movies in that order no music. If possible would like it to be 7in height or lower so i can put it on top shelf of my stand. If that is not possible i can get a stand and put it in front of my tv stand. Budget is 500$

Currently have

onix rocket rs850 fronts
onix rocket rsc200 center
Arx a1b surrounds
SVS Prime elevation speakers
SVS PB16-ultra
Denon x3500h

Chane A2.4 is the only center with 5.25" woofers that fits your 7" height max---no brainer choice there. It's superb, and only about $300 shipped. Just slightly warm so your Onix Rockets would likely be a great "match," if such a thing even exists.

If doing the stand in front of your TV, I'd wait for the Emotiva C2+ to come back in stock, $400 shipped.

Or if you want the best possible bang for the buck, Infinity has its $500 RC-263 center on sale for a jaw dropping $159 with free return shipping...I'd probably try this first if you're sure you're going to do the stand thing.

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

Polk LSiM 706C would be the best match due to the ring-radiator tweeter that matched your Rockets. Find a way to raise your TV to accommodate it.

Already bought a small tv stand thats 16in tall and some door stoppers to tilt it up some if needed. So you can ignore the part and height. The only stand made for centers i could find in stock was 18in for 139$ so i got a 16in tv stand off amazon for 34$.

Nice! I would wait for the Emotiva C2+ to come back in stock (probably mid/late June) if you're ok with the $400 price. If not, the C1 at $250 is no slouch either.

If you like louder than average volumes, the Chane A2.4 or Ascend 340SE would also be solid picks.

Unfortunately, the Infinity RC-263 has already sold out. You could try its smaller brother the RC-252 though, $135 with free return shipping.

I don't mind waiting if it's the better speaker. Was kind of leaning towards the chane A2.4 because of reviews and size. Will the Emotiva C2 be better for movies and games over the chane?

Yes, I would think so.

Try sending a PM to Mike @mpk1970 who's had both.

Right now my center is in the middle shelf pointing way to low. Maybe i should see how it sounds on stand pointing up at ears. Could save money for my second ultra.

Why not? Costs you nothing to experiment, and experimenting is the whole fun of this hobby.
