Interested to hear your thoughts. I'm debating between the same setup you just got vs Monitor Audio Gold 300's.

The Gold's are more $ and I'm wondering if it's worth it.

Also curious what color you got. I'm interested in the walnut but it looked a little orange to me at the place I demoed them....
Hahaha

I went with black walnut. I have always been a black speaker guy though.

I'm coming from Energy Connoisseurs so this has been a big improvement. As far as the sound... absolutely incredible so far. I'm just breaking them in and have a music station playing all day so I can get the hours up and really give them a test.

My biggest concern in spending this amount of money was the wow factor. I wanted these to blow away my old speakers and they absolutely do. So crisp and clean. I'll know more once I get to open them up.

As far as pricing... they have a trade in even going on for the month of March. Trade in any set of speakers and you get 20% off. I bought a speaker set in our local classifieds for $15 and traded them in.

The monitors are a nice option as well but for my application (90% movies, 10% music) I thought the paradigms were the better set to accompany my Paradigm in walls & in ceiling speakers.
Edllguy and Scarriere like this.

Same but they where offering 20% my whole order anyways this just gives them a bit of kickback from Paradigm. I'm waiting for them to arrive but I ordered (in midnight cherry):
2x 85F
1x 55C
2x 15B
2x J-29
2x CI Elite E65-R
Anthem MRX-720

I'm hoping for it to arrive this week, I'm so excited. Upgrading from Monitor 7/CC290 front stage and Atom rear (all V6)
Scarriere, Sammie2980 and Funkeye like this.

Greetings, Paradigm owners.

I'm looking to get better clarity from my front sound stage, and center channel in particular. I currently have the Andrew Jones Pioneer C22 in the middle, with the BR22s as mains.

A gentleman from craigslist is offering a Paradigm CC-170 and a pair of Titan v4's for $190. He says he bought them about 8 years ago and that he hasn't driven them very hard.

Would the CC-170 provide a lot of vocal clarity? Assuming these are in good shape, would this be a good deal? Thanks for your help.

Receiver: Pioneer VSX-1022-K
Sub: SVS SB12-NSD
Fronts: Pioneer SP-BS22-LR
Center: Chane A2.4
Surrounds: Polk R15

Wow that is a great price for the speakers...if they sound good...I had the 190? and Titans V5. IMO the 190 did not have the detail and clarity I wanted and bought the cc290 which is a very good center imo. At that price it seems a deal even if you don't keep the center.

$190 for those three speakers seems reasonable, IMO. The CC-170 should provide decent vocal clarity but, if it doesn't, replacing it with a gently-used CC-350 or -370 for ~$150 will definitely do the trick.

You may not like the generic crossover. Changing the caps may help. Use a decent quality cap.
SIR.did you just recently asked me(via PM) about my Paradigm collection of the Monitor series a few days ago....????I am going nuts trying to find the member who did..

He or she) commented that his spouse hated the "Black" versions of the Monitor series.

I misstated what I had on hand and after careful inspection.... I have not only the BLACK units... but several 'Mint pairs of the WHITE !!!!

HERE GOES, IN MATCHED SERIAL # PAIRS:

ATOMS V5......WHITE (2PRS)

ATOMS V5........BLACK (1PR)

MiNI MONITORS V5......BLACK (1PR)

TITAN MONITORS V5....BLACK (1PR)

CC-290 V5 ..BLACK (1PR)..CAN BE USED FOR STEREO OR MULTI-CHNL

IF YOU ARE THE PERSON WHO INQUIRED ABOUT THESE SPKRS, PLS BE KIND ENOUGH TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS.

MOREOVER, I RECALL THE INQUIRER, SAYING HIS "WIFE HATED THE PARADIGM "BLACK"...... THE COURTESY OF A RESPONSE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED..... TNX

Your theatre is very close to the size as mine. I'm 18x16x10.

I just took delivery on the 95F's, 55C, and 25S last week also. Unbelievable!

For my speakers I have the following:

Surrounds - 25S
Rears - SA-35 V.3 (In Wall) https://www.paradigm.com/products-ar...5/page=reviews
Atmos - CI Elite E80-R (in ceiling)https://www.paradigm.com/products-cu.../page=overview

The in ceilings are placed in between my first and second row.

I'm running a 7.2.2 system.

Paradigm Trade Up program going on right now...

Am I reading this right - that you can only get 20% off either - 1 pair of speakers OR 1 center OR 1 sub?

Nope, you can use it for anything. You'd have to "trade in" a center for the center discount, fronts for the front discount, etc but you can literally give any speaker even if not working.

All,

One more question concerning surrounds... Is it better to use 4 25s surrounds or Pardaigms in walls speakers for surrounds? Rears and sides?

FYI, this is a dedicated movie room. Thank you

Golden Ear Super Sat 60's LCR - not happy
In my home theater I am using Golden Ear Super Sat 60's for my LCR front stage. I am pairing them with 2 SVS PB2000 subs. I have an Anthem MRX 720 but using 3 Outlaw mono block amps for the LCR. I have to say that I am not that please with the Golden Ears speakers. Not sure what it is but they sound too high or tinny and it does not sound natural. They just do not seem to sound so good. I have ARCed my system several times and the LCR gets set at 120Hz. Was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on these speakers. I am most likely going to sell them.

I have a friend who is a Paradigm dealer and am looking at the Millenia 30 reference speakers to replace my Golden Ears. Anyone have any thoughts on them? Is there something better that I can get in that price range. All thoughts and comments are appreciated. I am looking to do this in the next month.

The Millenia 30 is certainly a nice speaker and one of the tops in this category. It is somewhat personal preference. Others to consider would be Monitor Audio Apex A40 and various Triad models

I was thinking of going with the Klipsch Reference RP160Ms (L & R) and then the RP450C center. I think they would pair well with the 2 SVS PB2000s. Any thoughts on them?

Klipsch with their horns is a different type of sound. Some love it and some hate it. The RP160 is also a different type of speaker. The others you mentioned were on wall types and this is a book shelf speaker. Something in Klipsch G series would be a better comparison.

I auditioned Klipsch and found the horn tweeters to be too bright for me. That's how I ended up with Paradigms. Now I'm not knocking them, they just weren't to my liking. That's why going out and demo'ing is always a good idea. This hobby is so subjective, and especially when it comes to speakers.

My apologies of the highest order..... Not only was I impatient... but I got my ARSE busted by the "Forum watch dogs" They slapped me with a "3point" warning -Justifiable as I never sold anything "on -line" or within a "forum"... I should have read, read and read the selling guidelines again. I was carried away.... Thought I was doing something good etc..... So now I will let the items previously written about.... stand idly in my audio room.... Likely to go on one of the major internet Bartering sites and all of the BS that goes along.

Should you have a question/// PM me.... I won't be vague..... , What sits in my home is mint, mint,.... instant surround sound.... subs to travel..... but then again and its all up the pages prior to this email..... again.... I am in NO HURRY to relinquish my stuff in a "FIRE SALE!

I live 10 mins outside of Denver.... .... that's about as much as I think I can say, prudently.....

Send me a note... I think we could chat ....I'll listen to what you have to say about "audio" and whatever suites your fancy.....

Again my apologies, for my haste.......1st & last time.....for me

what's better than a Paradigm CC-390 v6?

I think I previously posted in the wrong thread...so Im posting here...sorry
I've had a paradigm CC-390v6 for 4 years or so paired with monitor 7v6 and Micro surrounds and a SVS PC12NSD with A Marantz dr7008. I set them all to small even if Auyssey says large!
question...what newer centre speaker is better than this massive but awesome CC390? Just curious...haven't thougth about upgrading really but I would like to know what
newer centre speaker would be a better one?
thanks

I've had a paradigm CC-390v6 for 4 years or so paired with monitor 7v6 and Micro surrounds and a SVS PC12NSD with A Marantz dr7008. I set them all to small even if Auyssey says large!
question...what newer centre speaker is better than this massive but awesome CC390? Just curious...haven't thougth about upgrading really but I would like to know what
newer centre speaker would be a better one?
thanks

The cc-390 v6 was the best center at the time for the Monitor series.
Never heard anyone complain. Kind of hard to find too. I don't know
If the new centers for the v7 are as good either. Anything better is
Likely to come from the Prestidge or Studio line up. And then there
May be a timbre match issue. Personally I'd stand pat.
Nice system you have btw.

Thanks grasshoppers. I built this midrange HT system over a few years and it really is a nice one-I can see that some members here have amazing ultra expensive equipment but I built mine one component at a time. The latest addition was a Samsung 65" KS8000 4k TV and I enjoy my HT a lot. About the Paradigm CC390 v.6 I guess it was one of the best centres from Paradigm- I'm in Canada so I get more access to this brand but lately the prices have increased quite a bit or maybe I try to be more careful with my money...! hmm...in any case I think I will just keep enjoying the system as is and if something breaks then re-evaluate. Maybe by the time I buy a new house-in this overheated real estate market it will be a while!
thanks for the response-I love my Paradigm speakers!

8 years ago my journey with Paradigm began with a Monitor set
Up. The Monitor 11 towers, cc190, and mini-Monitor surrounds.
Sold them to get my Sigs. I am a proud owner of 14 Paradigm
Speakers. No desire to get any others either.
(Well I would like a pair of the Sig 4's with Be tweeter.
