right...the old Studio line was really nice and according to reviews, a real upgrade over the budget Monitor line...hmm...I guess i will wait for the Premiers to be released and read some reviews...for now I will continue to enjoy m monitor speakers..has anyone reviewed the Monitor SE 600f? the SE centre is not big enough to compete with my older CC-390!

Hey guys, for those that have built enclosure for their Paradigm in ceilings speakers, what kind of stuffing did you use for the box? Is it ok to use regular insulation?

Thanks,
Dan

Still thinking this is the case? I haven't seen a single peep about anything other than the two bookshelf, two center, and two floorstanding models.

1000% positive. They look like the surround 1 and 3 but with the P logo instead of “Paradigm” written out. Also will have the PPA lenses on the tweeters, and new woofers on the Surround 3s. Only about a ~10% price increase. Will ship right away with the rest of the line.

If anyone cares, they now let you pick your Persona colors for an 15% of the speaker price - see https://design.paradigm.com/persona/

Personally I wish they'd go the other way, offer the Persona drivers and crossovers in a basic boxy cabinet for a few thousand bucks less

That is interesting, but for the amount of money they're charging over MSRP (for some pretty hideous colors at that....), they should let the customer pick any custom color they want, and Paradigm should match it......and no "Hello Kitty Pink"??? What's up with that?

Anyway, what should I use to clean my Paradigm Studio speakers? Pledge or some fancy oil cleaner?

So a new speaker series is coming out which is the Premier Series? Is this a replacement to the SE series or more of the Studio Series? Anyway I know you shouldn't judge a speaker based on specs, but I'm no impressed with bookshelf speakers frequency response especially on the low end where the Studio 10 and 20 were able to achieve much more on the lower end and dig very deep for a bookshelf speaker. I have the Studio 10 and man they can dig really deep for a speaker of that size.

I just hope they sound real good, but I'm not expecting it to sound better than the Studio Series.

I would use no more than plain, warm water and a nice microfiber cloth - cloth first to remove majority of dust, then barely dampen the cloth just a bit, wipe again with dry cloth. You do not want excess moisture sitting on the surfaces for long at all. Don't use Pledge or other cleaners, they might serve to attract more dirt and it can build up on the finish. Others may have different advice.

Damp micro fiber cloth. Lightly damp at that so it dries really quickly.

I'm not a fan of the overall look of the speakers for the Premier series. I still find the Studio V5s and the Signatures as the best looking Paradigm speakers compare to the rest. I wouldn't mind owning the Premier 200B if it sounds as good as if not better than the Studio 20 V5, otherwise I would rather settle with the Prestige 15B speakers. Not that there is anything wrong with my current Studio 10s V5, I would like to step it up to the Prestige 15B series if they are worth it, but I need more information and more user experiences on going from the Studio V5s to the Prestige Series.

Also it looks like the Premier Series uses the same tweeter as the Prestige Series? If that's really the case, than they must sound phenomenal then except the cabinets won't have the same built quality though.

Also thanks guys for your input on cleaning my speakers!

Need an opinion of the Forum.
I'm thinking about putting in an In-Wall CI Elite E80, turning it horizontal, and using it as a center channel. Should work good right? Any advice?
Any advise on the enclosing it and how big the box should be?

It will be fine on its side. When you turn a speaker on its side it disperses differently between left and right. Call Paradigm they will tell you the ideal volume of the space behind the speaker.

Just curious, why turn it sideways? Should work fine in the normal upright position, you might even end up with weird dispersion characteristics if you turn it sideways.

Work, yes. Give you the result you expect? I'd imagine not. Like ratbuddy mentioned, upright, I think you're good. Horizontal? Well, look at how center channel speakers are designed - they are not asymmetrical for a reason. But I'm no expert, so give Paradigm a call, see what they think.

Good points. I didn't really think of the sound dispersion potential issue...I think I'll go with the Elite 80-R then. Tweeter is in the center of the 8" woofer and it is circular. When I get more $$, I'll graduate to the true in wall LCR speaker.
I knew I could count on your guys! Thanks!!

Err, I've never heard of using an in-ceiling speaker in a wall. I guess it could work, but why not just use the 80-IW as planned, only keep it upright?

Yeah, seems kind of odd, but I know DefTech at least markets their concentric, what you would call in-ceiling speakers as "In-Wall / In-Ceiling"....hey, why not? Certainly works, how good? Dunno.....above my paygrade.....

I don't have the space for my preferred In-Wall speaker between the TV and the architectural shelf that I built to install it upright. Its a very very tight fit for the round. Remounting the TV may be an option as well to make room.

I have the Elite 65-R (in ceiling) as surrounds and as in wall in another room. They work perfectly! I can also attest that the timber goes very well with the Prestige series.

FYI...I'm working on an in-wall/in-ceiling installation in my basement. Kicking around some ideas and going with Paradigm is about the same as going with Polk and others as far as price...and I love the Paradigm sound.

Is it replacing the 55C? Still gonna have the 85F as L/R? Or...is this a totally different critter?

Good looking speakers if you ask me. I think these are going to be a great value buy. Someone mentioned they would have a bi-pole surround speaker but it’s not showing in the lineup. Is it coming later? That 600c center speaker is certainly more manageable with a weight of 43 lbs compared to the 70lb cc-690 I have.

I got 4 SA-15r’s (in-ceiling) that I use as my surrounds and backs. Sound fine to me. And I just used pink insulation in my homemade in wall enclosures.
