Both Parasound and Monolith are class AB amps, so make sure to consider their weight in your decision.
Parasound is an amp I've heard a lot about. Does the fact that it stays in the class A mode for the first 10 watts of usage cause it to be a huge energy hog and run hot? Did you notice a jump in your electrical bill when you started using this amp? I read that Class A is great for lower volumes below reference and I think thats where I will probably be playing it the most since I live in a condo. Your the first person I've run into here that uses a parasound so im excited to pick your brain on the brand. Im thinking the Halo A52+ might be the one for me since it will give me a few more channels and the weight and size is manageable even though its only 180 watts.

Halo runs warm, not hot at all. My NAD-BEE amp runs hot, and my Denon AVR even runs hotter. I don't notice energy bill spike with more HT usage. The stated power rating is with all channels driven. 180wpc would still provide a lot of headroom. If you get the 5ch amp, you could bi-amp the 707s and have a spare ch for center. The 707s will benefit a lot with the available reserved power, even if you go with the Monoliths.

I've read the Monoliths consume less energy than Halo in standby, if that matters at all. My amps are shut-off by a Panamax unit when the HT is not in use. To give you an idea of the power consumption, the Panamax shows 0.7 Amps with Denon X4400 and other electronics in standby, and 2.8 Amps with the receiver ON and amps ON.

Edit: Btw I use LSiM703 x4 + LSiM706c + OWM5 atmos + Rythmik-L22 x2 for HT in case you ask.

@Geoff4RFC has done lots of testing on bi-amping his RTiA9's which are quite power hungry and IIRC he would tell you its better to get an amp with more power per channel for your fronts than double up on them, but I will let him weigh in.

And I will fade back into the mist from whence I came, unless further clarification is required.
I concur with @EndersShadow however I also believe that (careful) experimentation is healthy. In my case, I tried connecting two different amps to my RTiA9's as they were (I did remove the jumpers). But alas, instead of dissecting my XO's, I just implemented the amount of power amp I wanted to drive with and I've had no regrets, such as: a single 3ch amp, 400wpc for my front three and a pair of stereo amps, 300wpc to drive the sides and rears.....of course my thinking has always been: "no such thing as overkill", "too much is never enough", "what do you expect to drive with that??".....others mileage usually varies.

And come on Danny, it's better to burn out than to fade away....hey, who sang that??? further clarification is required

I say a big yes. I had the RTiA series myself and blended my LSiM's in. I first had the 706 with my A9's and they played well together. Now I use my A9's as rear surround in a 5 piece LSiM set up and all is well.

Display: LG OLED 65 8B-Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2
Mains: PolkAudio LSiM707, C 706, SS 702, RS RTiA9

Ahhh, I wondered if you were making a reference.

Mine was not as subtle as yours, but from Neil Young "My my Hey hey" from Out of the blue

Im still running, replacing them tomorrow, an original 1st gen set of Monitor 60s that are biamped. Theyve truly been great speakers for the price point. Ive been using them daily since early 2000s. I could tell a clear difference between biamp and not, but in the end its your call and whatever sounds best to you

These were bed room towers for a while then moved as rear surrounds in the theater. Now they are going to rock the garage where I can play what I want how loud I want with out driving the family the crazy.

Hola everyone! Soo I have a 5.1 setup right now and I’m adding a .2 for Atmos. I’m looking through speakers online and I came across these.

https://www.accessories4less.com/mak...er-each/1.html

Anyone know anything about them? They’ll be purely overhead Atmos.

I was playing around with a crown xls 2500 amp and my polk s20's last night and boy, they soak up power like my rita's did. Kind of makes me want to try the signature towers too, but no room for them in the bedroom.

The V6 should serve you well for overhead speakers assuming that they are a good match for the rest of your setup.

I have a 5.1 Q acoustics setup (3050i, 3090ci, 3010i) so I’m not 100%, I know the sensitivity of each speaker is fairly close and the drivers on the front are 6.5” also. Outside of that I don’t know haha.

Question. When comparing S20's to S50's for fronts playing at the same volume level with the same 80hz crossover point will there likely be a noticeable difference? Maybe more upper bass?

Hard to say. They should sound very similar until you get to loud volumes if I had to guess. The sub factors in this too and how your PEQ curves are set.

Alpha Mc Pie Pie...…..wassup amigo???

Just do it!!! The S-towers. You know, just "make" room.

In addition to my H.T. philosophies such as "too much is never enough" etc etc etc....one of them goes like this: "Don't let your furniture dictate what gear you have. Instead, arrange your furniture to accommodate your gear"

…...of course there's always WAF which in if that's the case where you're concerned, I will be happy, as I always am, to sign any documents which allows you to proceed with your project, stating that it is for experimental purposes only

Good to see you post amigo!!

This is my living room. Subs to the left of the cam, surrounds mounted on ceiling and walls. I miss towers here but I like my white bookshelves more, I put alot of hours into them so they get to be up front for a few years. Eventually I'll get a bigger house just to have more speakers.

Right now I'm funding a dac/amp for my headphones, maybe a DAP too.

I Got a toping ds90 dac, very nice you might try that or the 70 or 30. I think the 70pro dac amp is a sweet spot. I am also running a drop 789 for headphone amp but might sell that off to move to the topping 90 amp.

ps like your book case you do great work.
