I went ahead with the Polk HTS 10, unfortunately 11.CS is out of stock now. Looks like I have to live with a 2.1 setup & wait for 11.CS !

Did you check eBay?

I know. Brutal. Keep your eyes open, one at a decent price will pop up soon enough.

That’s awesome. I’m happy you are able to source the center channel at a reasonable price.

Any thoughts on a sub yet?

Wondering if anyone has tried the Denton 85's yet or the new Lintons? There are a few reviews of each online, but wanted to ask here as well.

I would also be interested in some feedback regarding the new Denton 85th and/or the Lintons. Have now owned (3) different sets of Wharfedale speakers and I am a fan for life!

Cheers,

Phil

I'm curious too, but I'm so happy with my Revas I can't see myself trying the Denton 85ths. I would like to see more Reva reviews just because they're not getting enough attention.

I need a speaker that matches a vintage receiver and turntable, but I don't want to go vintage speaker. The Denton 85 or Linton would be perfect for this situation.

Would like to hear some real-world reviews on them.

Joentell reviewed the 85th with measurements:

I just bought a pair of WHARFEDALE - Reva-1 Bookshelf Speakers and hooked them up.I love the looks but they will not handle high vol. at all. I know the Reva 1 only has a 4 1/2 " woofer but these are bottoming out at 55 to 60 on my Marantz.I have a pair of 220s and never had a problem all the way up to 80 on the Marantz. I am sure the woofers are bottoming out so I did not push them. These are taking over for a pair of DALI - Zensor 1 that had no problem going loud.I was going to move the dali,s to my bedroom .

I have to admit I am a D.A. I had left the jumpers off when I hooked them up Audyssey had jacked the level,s way up.I need to rerun Audyssey. It screwed up Auddyssey bad my fronts and center were like -3. and it had these jacked up to like +10 on one and +8 on the other.Forgot to say that I have these set up as surround,s and have Revel f36s for mains. These match the Revels piano black finish to a tee.

Seems that the Denton 85's are 4ohm speakers for some reason. Linton's are 6ohm.

This is where it'd be nice to see what actual users had to say about them vs. online reviews where the speakers have been shipped to them courtesy of a retailer.

yep , it's an entirely different dynamic, pro reviews early on are almost always "happy marketing tools"...much like many of the reviewers themselves

Yes it did they now sound great. I have to add that these speakers have a killer mid range, really smooth.

After two months with my Diamond 220's I'm happy to say these little guys sound terrific!!! I don't think they're fully broken in yet as I haven't had a great amount of free time to run them. Even still, they sound wonderful!!!

After 6-7 months with my Diamonds 225 I can only say that they sound the same as the first day - lovely. No difference whatsoever. But if "broken in" makes you happy...
