Veritas 2.3 crossovers and some binding lists. If anyone wants to flip me a $20 for shipping they’re yours. The previous owner replaced some caps on one of them. Might just be good for parts.

Has anyone here listened to any RSL home theater speakers?

Any thoughts if I go to this setup after having RCs/LCR for the last 10 years...?

😎It's just life, dude. We are all gonna die sometime--Might as well try and have a kickass time while we're still here.😜

I wish, this is a brand that's super intriguing and gets phenomenal reviews especially given the prices.

They do have free in-home trial if you want to test a pair against the RC's.

I have 2 rarely used Energy RC-6C in-ceiling speakers that I pulled out of my old house before selling it. However, I left the mounting brackets and grills in the home as I didn't want to deal with fixing the holes. I was thinking these would be easy to find and replace.

I have called Energy and scored the entire internet and I think I may have made a costly decision as there are NONE available anywhere.

Could I sell these drivers and surrounds on eBay just as they are? I don't know if they would be useable now without all of the mounting gear.

I sold one set to a member on this forum already (I had 4 speakers total).

I have all boxes and paperwork.

I am replacing my long-used Energy RC's and doing a trio of RSL CG25 LCR and a set of CG3 Bookshelf's for the rears on wall mounts.

Doing (undecided on brand) dual subs also.

I will post my reviews when my house is done.

Just signed the final build papers today and the house should be done in January!

This means that I will have a set of RC30s and an LCR for sale sometime this year.

I’ve got an old A/V buddy in Portland who has offered me his old 5ch setup for sale.

1pr RC-70
1 RC LCR
1pr RC-10

No boxes but all are in mint condition.

Fair price? He hit me up with $750.

Sounds like a good price to me. I've got that same set and I wouldn't want to sell mine that cheap - I'm in Canada though, so the difference in dollar value may be a strong factor.

If I replace my RC-30 with these 70s what should I expect for The differences in performance?

Anyone ever mount the Energy RC-LCR? I'm wanting to move ours from the bottom to the top of the projector at a 10-15 degree angle so the back row can hear voices a little better. I'm also interested in replacing our RC-70 for a pair of RC-10 for the same reason as moving the center speaker. We have a Rythmik sub so we don't really have a need for towers anyway. Seems these RC speakers are impossible to find now and I'm not sure I'd trust any used ones on ebay. Lol. That being said, I'll have a pair of RC-70's for sale in the Houston area as soon as I can find those RC-10s. One (or both? I have to look at them again) have some damage on one of the back corners when they were shipped to my home new ~4 years ago. Other than that, they've never moved from their spots and have not been abused.

I have those exact same speakers, that is a fantastic deal. I assume you're picking them up locally if no boxes?

RC-70 will sound much fuller with deeper bass than the RC-30. plus the tweeter is closer to ear level since it is a taller speaker. Do you have a subwoofer?

I've never tested the RC-30s but I sure do love my RC-70s. I'm not sure you'd hear a major improvement going from the 30s to the 70s though.

I haven't compared them directly but based on years of discussion in this thread, there are two big differences between the RC-30 and RC-70:

1. The RC-70 is a bigger speaker and as such will extend lower and play louder. This advantage would be less relevant if you're bass managing to subs and/or don't have a huge room.

2. The RC-70 is a true 3-way design with a dedicated midrange separate from the two larger bass woofers. This will make it smoother and more transparent in the midrange. This advantage would primarily be heard in 2ch music, less so for home theater.

Also in regards to comparing the RC30s and 70s, you may notice a difference with the tweeter as well. They are the same tweeter in both speakers, but having them higher up on the taller RC70s may sound better (or worse even) depending on your listening position height and distance. It won't be a night-and-day difference, but I noticed a slight improvement going from V2.3 to V2.4 towers.

Yes, I currently have a sub but will soon have dual subs once my new house is completed in January!

So yes.....because of this deal that crossed my desk I have decided NOT to abandon the RC-line.

I am building a brand new home that will be done in January and was planning on selling my RC30 & LCR setup (already sold my RCR's to a fellow member on this board) and starting fresh with an RSL setup for my massive 16x23 gathering room that opens to even more space in the kitchen, etc.

But...I saw a deal I couldn't pass up. I got 2 RC-70's, 1 LCR, and 1pr of RC10's for $750.

All are in like-new condition with zero marks and the RC-10's are actually brand new and have only been plugged in to test them!

So, I am going to have the RC 70's up front with an LCR and the 10's are being mounted on the walls as I am only doing a 5.2 setup in my new home (pre-wiring contracts signed) with whole house audio for Zone's 2 & 3.

Right now I am living in a very tiny home and wanted to do a one-hour A/B unscientific comparison with the RC-70's and RC-30's.

I listened to about an hour of music in 2ch stereo mode with no Audessey setup--I literally just plugged and played with full range and no sub.

Listened to quite a bit of music at -5 to 0db...some 2Pac, Taylor Swift, Eric Prydz, Deorro, Chainsmokers, and Kid Rock. The first impression is that the speaker plays a tad louder thatn the 30's, and the higher-placed tweeter did cause me to think at first these were a tad too bright in the sweet spot.

The bass was lower but it wasn't as prevalent as I thought it would be....maybe in my new house it will be better due to the room size!

The 70's soundstage was just so much larger!!! Deorro's "Five Hours (Vocal Mix)" and Eric Prydz's "Opus" are what blew me away the most and I just had to stop comparing at that point. They opened up such a massive soundstage that I thought I had it in 5-channel stereo.

If anyone listens to Prydz you know that he is a MASTER of audio production (like Deadmau5). He throws sounds all around the field and I could not believe how much more MUSIC I heard on "Opus" and "The Matrix"--it sounded like it was coming from so many directions, which is what he does when he makes music. I was floored.

I only hooked these up to my old Denon AVR-2808ci (105wpc) in stereo off of an iPod--yep. iTunes music. Deal with it. haha

I bought these for my new home....and I am going to run a Denon AVR-x4500h paired to an Outlaw 5000 amp in a very large open room and I already know these RC-70's are NOT done impressing me.

Oh yeah....one other thing....I usually watch a couple episodes of The Office literally 7 nights a week before I go to bed. Don't ask how many times I have run through the entire series!!!

I didn't adjust anything on the receiver or speakers....but I noticed a massive difference in the left and right channels in how much came out of them I had never heard before....like all of the background sounds in the show like papers rustling and desks being opened. I didn't expect this at all and am quite pleased!

Mint RC-30's and an LCR up for sale now in the For Sale foruM!!!!

Glad you like them 355F1, you have me second guessing on swapping mine out for the RC-10s up front. Maybe I'll place them on a stand or something so they sit higher for the back row to hear them better. Right now I love the sound in the room. I basically the same setup as you, (RC-70s up front, LCR center, RC-10s rear) just need to figure out how to get clearer sound for the back row. I wish I built my back row stage a little higher than 9"...

Curious, what row do you typically sit in? If it's the front, then who cares? IME, friends and family members are not at all clued in to any discrepancies in total sound quality from seat to seat....To me, replacing RC-70s with RC-10s would most definitely be a step down in sound quality... I would explore other options to improve your sound quality and the dialog intelligibility first ... .such as some room treatments to possibly combat some room reflection issues and such that are most likely the cause of your back row sound issues..

Actually my room setup is also 2 rows of seating and my main MLP is actually in the 2nd row on top of a riser using RC-70s flanking a projection screen and an RC-LCR located underneath.... but the RC-LCR is angled upward with a pair of door stops wedged underneath it. Works great... but I also have a combination of wall and ceiling placed acoustic panels along with movie posters in enclosed frames to hopefully get the right balance of absorption and reflection.

In short, keep your 70s!

Hi friends! Longtime lurker, newbie joiner, Energy fanboy.

I first stumbled onto the brand in a Magnolia showroom when I liked the CB-20s better than anything I heard within a couple hundred bucks. I actually got some as a gift and had a bookshelf system in my office based around them, and came to love them.... And started shopping for more Energy speakers!

I bought a house, left the apartment behind and decided to go big on my previously compact HT setup...

Nowadays...
RC-70s are the flagships of my 2-channel musical setup after starting out in my home theater setup...and are massively underrated/overlooked in audiophile circles..... IMO.

I'm powering them using a Rogue tube/hybrid amp plus a Pro-ject turntable, BluSound Node 2i, and a Sony BluRay/SACD. They're so accurate and musical. Though they're great in HT uses... I love them for music.

My 7.2 system...all ENERGY too.
RC-10s up front on stands, 2 Energy subs, RC-LCR center, and 4x CB-20s for rears.

Big love for Energy. Extreme value. Bang for buck is so high.

I like to sit in the rear row corner where the bass is the strongest. The 70s are barely covered by the front row. Unfortunately I didn't build the back row riser tall enough (wife said 9-11" riser was too high so I went with 6" boards (which is around 7" high after top flooring and carpet)).. Also, the entrance to our media room is at the very front so placing the speakers on each side of the screen would be impossible so they're about 4' forward from the screen. I think I have a pictures of it in my sig... not sure, haven't checked that thread in a while and I need to update it since I built the riser and purchased different seating.

But yeah, I think I'm going to keep those 70s and just figure out a way to get that center speaker above the projector screen, the RC-LCR is already running at +2 volume to compensate but the people in front complain about it.

Wonder if I should put the RC-70s on some sort of stand or build a few small bases to set them on.

Welcome to the Energy family! Nice setup sir!

Current set up for the last umpteenth years:

CENTER - Connoisseur CC-3
R/L - Connoisseur C5
REAR - Connoisseur CR3

Wanted to go atmos so I just added Klipsch R41sa(still debating going svs elevations) as front heights and will be adding 2x Hsu subs to take over for my single Def Tech 12".

Now... am I missing something by not upgrading everything? I've been very happy with this setup for obviously 10+ years. But now wondering if it would be an upgrade to the svs prime series. Is it worth it? I would want it to be a significant upgrade, if its just a little minor diff, I'm fine staying with what I have.

Any advice? Stay or should I go?

SVS gives you a 45 day at home tryout, maybe the way to go would be to order them and do a comparison. See what you like.

Hello again!

So I have been doing some thinking about my setup (see above posts up the page a few spots).

For my RC-70 and LCR front I am re-considering the Outlaw Audio 5000 5ch amp and thinking about doing 3 Outlaw Audio 2200 200ch Monoblocks for the front 3 and letting the Denon receiver (4500, most likely) handle the RC-10 surrounds that are going up on the side walls.

Any thoughts?

WHat is everyone using on those RC-70's?

I'm not familiar with outlaw amps, but I don't hear much difference between my Denon 4311 receiver and my Parasound 2205AT 5 channel amp powering my RCs. A little more bass, but that's about it. I doubt monoblocks would bring anything more to the table either, but can't say for sure.

Found an awesome Energy Brochure for their 2009 line that has all specs.

Hope this helps someone!

You can save this as a pdf but I can't figure out how to upload the PDF file.

https://www.hifihenkes.de/produkte/a...plett_2009.pdf

Attached is a simple screenshot of the RC line since it seems like there are conflicting specs of these speakers online.

Hi, I am looking to repair an energy esw-c10 subwoofer. The capacitor R22 is blown and I am unable to see any markings on it. Does anybody know what type of capacitor is needed to replace it? I've tried to get the info from Klipsch but I'm getting a bit of the run around.

Thanks!
