Something I just stumbled upon while looking for something entirely different on the Klipsch forums. Looks like the Palladiums were first conceived in a slightly different form as "Reference Premiere" back in 04: https://community.klipsch.com/index....emeier-series/

It actually dates back even further (palladium concept) At first there was a hot rod RF7, but was dropped in favor of a 3 way design. Many concepts of that line before it came to be.

Ah, i see. The path of product development is often as interesting as the finished product. I'm curious if a replacement line is coming down the pipeline (of if Klipsch is no longer targeting that market segment)

Which line are you referring to? Either way I would never answer that question directly, unless the product was already released. Over time everything is "replaced", even if the name changes and it looks nothing like the previous generation. The general price range is often what gets replaced, not necessarily a speaker line.

Oh I realize you wouldn't answer it, I was just throwing it out there, but I was referring to the Palladium line which looks discontinued, at least based on pricing and the sold out status.

Hmm, Maybe it's just an inventory adjustment. I can't find anything new but the subs and surrounds anymore though (had my p17 order cancelled for no inventory), and it's all half off. Found a lightly used pair of P17s on ebay though, so it's all good.

I paired up a set of Klipsch RP-160Ms with Rythmik FM8s. Using a MiniDSP 2x4HD for xover and just about have things dialed in. This combo is starting to sound pretty darn good with the smooth jazz collection running 2ch in Pure Audio mode thru the Onkyo receiver. Next up is an upgrade for center channel to RP-450c. Looks like b-stock available thru Sound Distributors on ebay.

Any SQ comments on RP-450c? Thanks.

I have had the RP450C for a little over a year now and still am very impressed with it. It took some time to set everything up since I didn't like how YPAO had it set so I did it manually. I mostly watch movies and it does a great job. It's paired with x4 RP 280Fs and a pair of Polk monitor 70s.

That's a KLF-C7 that's been certified by THX.

Well, only 6.5 woofers, but otherwise, if I hadn't bought p17b's just recently, I would be all over this. Curious if that bigger horn would be an improvement over my Academy.

You're right. I thought something was a little of in the pics.

I'll be finding out shortly what difference there is between the two of them. Pulling my Academy in favor of a KLF-C7.

That is not a KLF-C7, it is a KT-LCR. Two different animals.

So, I've got a somewhat related question. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the big Klipsch 90s centers (KT LCR, Academy, C7, KV4) all had the narrower dispersion horizontally (as in, the Academy is 90x40, 90 vertical, 40 horizontal, when oriented as a traditional HT center channel with the long side of the horn running vertically). The horn on the KL650 is oriented the same way (long side vertically). It has 90x60 dispersion--is the 90 vertical or horizontal?

I am not very familiar with all of them, but based on what I know that would seem to be correct. I owned the KLF-C7 so I do know that one.

Any idea on the KL650s? Thanks for the info you share btw, it's always interesting.

On another note, my P17Bs arrived yesterday. Enjoying them greatly so far. Two albums thus far have been superb. And the look is very impressive in person. Not a lot of bookshelves these would fit on

Hey everyone. Been looking at the RP line lately. My front three speakers will behind AT screen, but with limited space. Unfortunately the RP-280's will not fit. What is the depth of the 260's without the grill (not including the base)?

As a possible fallback, I could go RP-250 but I'm worried about them being able to fill the room appropriately. 17 X 17 X 12 - treated front wall and first reflections with 2" OC703. Any thoughts?
