Have to agree wholeheartedly with your comment...absolutely no upgraditis since acquiring the RF-7II's! As you're aware, I'm predominantly a movie person but have been listening to more music lately too...still impressed! A bit OT...but I too, have been visiting other threads...also went 4K with an Epson 5040UB and an Oppo 203! Also saw that you migrated to PSA with your 3600...congrats! I tried the V1800 (I've known Tom V a long time..even before his SVS days) and the Cap 1400 but ultimately upgraded my PB13's to the PB16's.

Full disclosure, I've never seen or heard the Palladium line...just familiar with its reputation. It's more like we have or driven a Lexus, BMW, or Mercedes and there's this Bentley out there waiting to be experienced! I'll defer to others who have had the pleasure/opportunity to enlighten us. Perhaps we can get @itsmyforte to chime in as well!

I don't like to comment in a detailed way in regards to a speaker. Everyone hears different, and just flat out have bias for one reason or another. I look at it from a "do I like it better, and is it worth the coin, or is it just different" kind a thing. Also understand this is from an engineers perspective, a speaker is just a speaker to me for the most part. I can't say what I heard at X time, in X room will give the same results you will hear in your room. That isn't a cop out, its flat out the truth. In regards to the RF7 compared to a P39, yes the P39 is different, better, but I don't have that kind of coin.

Bought HeresyIII speakers about 6 months ago. Was looking for Forte II speakers at the time. I was weary of buying used Fortes that I hadn't heard so I bought the Hersey's. Reviews on Fortes are so good and have bought nothing but Klipsch in the last 10 years.

Be saving my $3800 to buy a pair.

Denon AVR-X4200, Forte III's, Klipsch Heresy III, RC -64II , RP-150M, RP-140SA, Klipsch R-112SW.....for 2 channel Parasound P-5, Parasound A-23, U-turn turntable
Sony XBR65X850C, oppo 203

Yep, I had gotten a second Ultra (a cylinder to go with the Pb), but ultimately sold the one PB and sent the PC back and got the V3600. It's an amazing subwoofer and can't imagine needing anything else. Although, the new PB16's did get me thinking, lol! That Epson must be nice! You have the 7's behind the screen or to the side?

The Epson is a major upgrade/improvement in sharpness, color, contrast, and resolution over my 8 yr old Panny...absolutely amazing! My 7's are currently on each side of my screen. I anticipate moving to an AT screen sometime soon at which time I will replace my 64II with a third 7. In the meantime, like yourself, I'm attempting to dial in the Epson and the Oppo. Sorry about drifting OT...now back to the regularly scheduled program!

Yep, agree that for most...sound quality is purely subjective. Even so, I believe the Palladiums have earned their vaulted reputation and are highly respected.

Anybody have any of the RP-280FA's? Curious how well the Dolby Atmos works in them...

Also, I like the plinth that the new speakers have (like the rest of the RP line), but I hope they don't have any backward tilt. The tilt is perfect for my RP-260Fs but it'd make my RF-7s beam right over my head.

Of course, the RF-7II's outriggers are even better than the plinth.
They probably learned how ridiculous those hunting trophies were for surround support. I've seen RS42IIs with Klipschorn/Heresy with no complaints. THX Ultra 2 surrounds are available if you really really think you need the next level, even then, only 5.25" drivers on the surround models.

I want those stands from the new PSB flagship.

I love mine so far but I have limited experience with Atmos. I've had them about a month. I'm thinking of adding two more atmos speakers now. The 280-FA's work great but my room size is 19x24 and would benefit from a rear pair. I'll probably get some ceiling speakers for the back.

Good point -- never thought about it that way.

Let me put it another way - when Reference IIs were the current models, Klipsch advertised the "RF-7II Home Theater System" that showed the recommended complete system including RS-64IIs. Now that the RF-7IIIs have been announced, what will the "RF-7III Home Theater System" look like? Will the RP-250S surrounds be the recommended speakers or will there be something else?

And that still doesn't address what happened to the 8" bookshelf/monitor speaker...

Sku's are added and dropped based on sales. What one assumes should go with another model doesn't always make it to market unfortunately. At this time there are no plans for an RF7 "surround" or 8" bookshelf in the RP line.

I'm surprised that there was so little demand for an RB-81II replacement that it was dropped, but I guess that's the unfortunate reality of business. Oh well, it's not like the RP-160Ms suck...

Yes they are ported out the bottom, and the horn is a new design.
