Good choice, excellent system, just give yourself a favor and call ( must call) Sound Distributors and receive the best deal. I believe you will save hundreds of $$$.

2. "those little (bose 3") speakers sound the same (as much larger)

I don't have an uphill battle with my wife, it's a bona-fide wall with her.

Fortunately, I had some of my stuff prior to meeting her so I could always remind her I was a "package deal".

Later in life when I got the even bigger speakers.... well....by then I guess my hearing was muted a bit and I never heard her complaints too much...

Which is why I pretty much dropped my drawers when she said "mmmm.....OK" to my (probably a bit snide) comment about "Gee honey, we could mount one of those Danley DTS-10's right over there, above the (ventless) fireplace"

I still keep an open eye on her when she's pretending to be asleep, just in case she really was replaced by a martian.

Why a TV??? @ereed is right! Have you considered a projector with a motorized drop down screen (100" - 120") in front of your flat panel TV? You should give this serious consideration and have the best of both worlds!

RP-160m upward angle

Anyone know what the upward angle is on the RP bookshelves? I have not seen this on any other bookshelf. What is the reasoning for this? With the stands I will be using for the RP-160m tweeters will be a little below ear level (a couple inches) so it might actually work to my advantage to have it angled up slightly.

from Crutchfield:
angled MDF base plate for elevated image height and increased speaker stability

I'm pretty sure the base can be taken off if you want. They were packaged separately with my 280f.

In this thread, there is a good shot of what the base looks like, and the angle it tilts the speaker.

The real reason.
Yes found that amusing. Just ordered my L/C/R (160m and 450c) via Acoustic Sound Design. Amazing pricing! Glad I found them through this thread. Authorized dealer and a reasonable return policy. I have an AV installer/Klipsch dealer running some new wiring for stand mounted surrounds (RP-150M) and mounting rear Atmos speakers as heights so felt a little obliged to order those through him at standard prices. Klipsch price on RP-140sa is $100 off this month though so that helps. So I'm officially in, all speakers ordered. Can't wait to start listening. My HT upgrade escapades started about a year ago with some minor upgrades to a prior mostly HTIB polk system. I've since learned a ton on these forums and discovered what I like and don't like. Even got into REW. Budgets went in the crapper. So now have dual real subs, higher end AVR, currently an all Polk 5.1.2 setup that is about to be overhauled to an all Klipsch RP 5.1.4 setup. See sig for details. I'm hoping the upgrade dust settles now and I can just enjoy my new set up for years as long as my wife doesn't divorce me. I will need to upgrade TV and blu-ray eventually for 4K/HDR but waiting a little longer for pricing to improve on OLED.

You can get a really nice projector and screen for less than 65 inch 4k tv. I paid $1800 for my sony 45es projector and 120 inch silver ticket screen. Its not 4K or HDR but I'd take 120 inch 1080p anyday. Much more immersive and makes you really enjoy movies more. Big picture goes with big sound! Actually it will make explosions sound more real and in your face alot more (be prepared to duck sometimes) LOL.

Anytime you want to come by let me know so I can plan it. Weekends are usually best for me.

Also I can show you the pros and cons of owning a projector in person so you fully understand it and how to mount it so you know what to do if you decide to purchase one.

I wish I had room in my small 7X14 den for a wide screen projector. With Cornwalls for fronts and 55" LCD/LED between them and a sub it's wall to wall with speakers and a TV. With just 7 ft across and we set 7 ft back with rears 7 ft behind up on the wall and sides (on stands) 3 ft each side of HT chairs. It sounds really crowed for a 7.2 but it's great sounding and the 55" has been great for 8 years now. I keep thinking it will die any day and I can swing a 60" and go 4K. When I am finally done with motorcycles I am remodeling my attached two car garage to my HT/Stereo room then a projector.

You guys have any thoughts on the Heresy III's in a Dolby Atmos setup? Or if its even possible.

I already have a great 2 channel room. Wanting to get back into HT again. Used to own the Heresy's and loved them. Got a buddy selling his 3 Heresy LCRs. But they are about 9 years old. Just not sure...guess it depends on cost.

Louis...you don't necessarily have to wait...the garage theater can be version #2 Great things have been accomplished in a space (100sf) similar to yours! Hope this provides encouragement!

Hi guys just bought a big Klipsch 7 speaker setup.

RF-7 II
RC-64 II
RP 250S
RP 160M

I usually just resell speakers (paid $3k for all from adorama, I think the deal is over) BUT I am wondering if this setup could be better then y current setup which is a Focal Chorus setup that includes

Focal 836 towers
800c center
806 bookshelfs
816 smaller towers and a klipsch 15" sub.

I know my focal setup is supposed to be very good but I dont know about the RF7's

What would you think?

It looks like the Klipsches will be more efficient, (surprise, surprise), probably play louder. Plus, some of them are made in America, which is cool. Those Klipsches are really good, but Focal has a good rep, as far as I know. My guess this would totally come down to personal preference of which sound signature you like best. Certainly worth trying, everyone here that has the RF-7II loves them.
