Interesting to see what Tyler is doing here...

Wonder which speaker, C20/30/60, is selling the fastest. $5250 is to tempting for C30...no way he'd take my Focus 260 as a trade-in...

HiFi: Dynaudio Contour C20 (White Piano) | Schiit Modi Multibit DAC | NAIM SuperNait 3
Cables: Chord Cobra VEE3 RCA-DIN | Tellurium Q Black
HeadFi: Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee | Schiit Fulla 3

Past HiFi: Dynaudio Excite X16 | Dynaudio Focus 160 | Focus 260 | Harman Kardon HK3490 | NAIM XS2 | NAIM SuperNait 2

The Fact12 is an amazing speaker as well, perhaps the only PMC I have auditioned that was clearly a really big step-up from my Focus...

My dealer told me to be sure to keep the crates. They are well over a $1000 to replace. They would have to be ordered from the factory. Dynaudio NA doesn't stock spares.

I still have my Contour boxes too. I think they might fit inside the C2 crates.

If someone would like to sell me some X18’s for the price of the X14 I’d love to go that route - but it seems unlikely =) so that leaves me and my budget with these three front soundstage options:
- M20s + M15C
- X14s + X24
- X14s + X28

I have a Rythmik L12 (and eventually a second one) and crossover at 80Hz. In person the M20 Bass was undeniable but the demo had no Audyssey or similar calibration and was only 2.0 which is not what I do st home. Given at least 50% of my use is HT or gaming rather than dedicated music listening, would you say the Excite or Emit is a better fit? I originally thought the larger woofer and larger cabinet of the M20 would give it the edge for movie use, but perhaps I really wouldn’t need that thanks to my sub - and if I go Excite I have the option of thenotabky bigger center rather than larger bookshelves. Decisions decisions, I’d like to try both of them in my room with my Amos and see which is a better fit, perhaps later this month.

If only they were black (or perhaps white). Our BDI cabinet is cherry and any wood finish speaker just clashes atop it.

Found a set of X14’s locally but the way the tweeter(s) look in the photo put me off a bit. Is this ok, or should I pass?

The dimples will not affect the sound.

Well pretty easy decision, if you have room keep them, I did not, and it didn't affect my trade in whatsoever... If you're in a large market area, like near Chicago or a major city, pretty easy to unload them to the right buyer. Trying to ship them via Freight might be more than one can bargain for. I doubt if the crates cost that much as I could built a pair out of OSB for $200 bucks, they take up a lot of damn room. LOL I know I use to sell them..

HT system: Dynaudio SCX Center, Dynaudio In-Walls for Surrounds and Sony VPL-295ES possibly a new Monitor in the future.

Yeah, it would probably be cheaper to build out a pair of creates.

It's just my wife, dog and me in a 2800+ sq ft house, plus unfinished basement. It's not a problem for me to keep the crates. I'm in St. Louis. I don't think we have anything like Chicago for a high end market. I intend for this to be the speaker I live with in retirement.

RaceTripper: I hear you on living with the C2's till retirement, I got about 13-16 years left in my tank, I am tempted to go the Confidence 20 route need to hear them first.. I have had Contour original's for 10 years and the Platinums for about 2 now, but one we downsize to a smaller house in 10 years a monitor seems more appealing.

On another note, does anyone have a picture of Dynaudio Special 40s on the Silver stand? Wife wants silver stands with the Gray Special 40's I have.. Trying to find a pic of that combo..

Not till retirement. I bought these for retirement, which happens in the next 3-5 years. If my wife and I downsize from our house, we will still get something that accommodates a proper listening room, at least as good as we have now. It's important to us both.

Confidence 20s were at RMAF. They are still a bit mellow off-axis like Esotar2/Dynaudio C1 but off-axis dispersion has improved quite a bit, and the bass is much tighter.

Still, I would say the resolution on the tweeter is noticeably behind the many ribbons that were at the show or the diamond tweeters. I am not exactly certain the asking MSRP is worth it, especially that it's essentially twice as much as the C1s used to be. It really isn't twice the speaker, it's maybe 10-15% better, whereas there really are speakers in the 10-20k range that are heads and shoulders above the C1s. I might end up getting a pair in of Confidence 20s in the future for a secondary setup, for a nice full range and mellow sounding bookshelf, but only if its heavily discounted in the used market...

However if you are wedded to the soft dome sound for a 2-way monitor, it's still a great speaker, just a bit spendy. They had the Gamut RS3is at the show for whoever was asking earlier...they were bright and sounded terrible.

So keep me posted when the new Confidence speakers arrive. Just curious on how the new Borresen Accoustics speakers sound, they look like Raidho's.
I seem to remember when Tyler had a demo of the Scansonic speakers he also had a pair of Dyn 3.4LE's and I thought your trade ins were in crates already. That's why we didn't drag them in. He may have bought a pair of crates from Dynaudio since they are about 25mi away.

I may be in deep doo doo regarding the Borresen speakers. I say that because if you didn't hear Gated Hifi is now the distributor for Borresen speakers - Aavik and Ansuz along with Kudos speakers. I asked Tyler if I could break in a pair of the B03's in my home. He said yes. I'll get a good sense how they stack up against the D3.1's. Full production is supposed to start this month.

As far as the new Confidence Tyler thinks they may come just before or after the new year. But who knows

Are those the Octave Jubilees driving the C20's?

Any chance did you hear the Kudos or Borresen speakers in rooms 9002 and 9004?

Honestly I think they are kind of ugly, black might work better for me,but your comments on their performance for price makes me wonder. They will be competing head to head with Kudos 505’s for me,before any decision is made...might even stick with my Sopra 1’s and improve my electronics, eventually.

@no quarter
It's strange that you have and like both Dynaudio and Focal.
They have completely different sound signature.

I actually like the looks of these to that of the C1s.
Now if I could get them 50% off and full trade-in on the 260s I just might be able to convince the wife of making payments on the balance.....

Thanks for the pics, and I see that is Dynaudio new stand, which I am looking at for my Special 40's. Nice to finally see the Confidence 20s at the show, I know they rolled them out in Germany. I currently have C2 Platinums as my main speakers and been looking at possible going with a great monitor down the road. Since Speakers are highly personal on taste some find the ribbons and diamond tweeters to be a tad on the bright side, again depends on your taste and to me more careful equipment matching usually pays off. Out of the speakers you heard, what was you favorites?

Dynaudio Confidence C2 Platinums (Mocca), Dynaudio Contour 20's (Grey Oak) KEF LS50 (Black), Magnepan 1.7i, Belles VT-01/MB-200s, NAD M10, Hegel, Musical Fidelity and various other good brands.. HT system: Dynaudio SCX Center, Dynaudio In-Walls for Surrounds and Sony VPL-295ES possibly a new Monitor in the future.

I seem to remember my dealer saying they expect to have them at the store when they have their "customers meet reps" party in November.
