Bingo!!! I was a store manager for 6 years partime as it helped pay for all the toys before I got married.

BigAl87: totally agree I have different flavor a of speakers around the house. Dynaudio/Dali/Kef/Magnepan, like the sound of Raidho and Scansonic as well.

Yup, after I quite doing it full time I stayed on (at minimum wage) a day or 2 a week so I could keep the discount and perks, I definitely wasn't there for the $$$.

Unfortunately some dealers don't feel that way. Such as my local Dyn dealer, even after stating that I have been in the industry and I won't pay anywhere near retail, I was quoted only $400 off a set of DEMO 380's than what you can get a NEW set for. (Well, not from them)

Where is "Tyler" located?

Yup this is sad, I do get they can't advertise price nor give the speakers away and that's totally fine but a dmo pair for 400$ off retail on discontinued 380's, this is harsh. I mean Dealer can advertise demo price for a discontinued line and I can tell dealers around here sold demo pair of 260's for way better discount than $400
I have seen 1K below retail advertised on a pair of 260's and they don't lose the Dyn line for that on a discontinued line. We all know they can do even better.

Bartlett Illinois - It's a suburb of Chicago.
Tyler is not an Audio whore. His prices are very very good but he is not the least expensive compared to a few of on-line authorized dealers. His service before and after (should there be a problem) the sale is outstanding. That counts for a lot. Also he is not the salesman that will call and say Hey George I have a new speaker/amp/cable that just kills others including yours. He will let me know when he has it and ASK if either I can bring it by (I'm close) or come to him and hear it. If you press him hard he will tell you his opinion but he would rather let you tell him what you think. I remember one time when he loaned me the original Nordost demo case. The day after getting it I told him I heard no difference between the Baldur and Valhalla ic's. He said nothing. By the end of the 30 day trial I realized I never gave the cables enough time to make a decision. But after a few days in my system boy was I wrong. In the end as much as I loved the Valhalla's I bought the Frey's. To me he the best retailer there is. Never any pressure to buy anything.

CD: Unit looks cool I saw it at Axpona, but the Xeo 2 smoked it on sound and not much more. I guess it all depends on where your going to use it! I still liked it though! The KEF Eggs where also good.

Yeah, listen; I had KEF X300As, with a Chromecast Audio...dangling off the back, and out of sight (available BTW).

For my purposes (Bedroom): smaller footprint, no high volumes...high aesthetic factor; it makes sense.

When I put on something, pretty "easy listening"...some low to medium volume Jazz, Classical, etc; it sounds great.

Thank you. I'm only about 5 hours away, and I don't mind driving for a good dealer, especially when you are paying thousands of dollars, last thing you want to feel is pressured...

I think the Xeo 2 would be perfect for a living room/bedroom or office.. heck I had them playing in my main HT for a couple of days and my wife thought I had the C2 going...

It's too bad the DC metro area no longer has a NAIM dealer. Working with Tyler was a joy, don't get me wrong but my ability to demo and audition is pretty much nill.

Current HiFi: Dynaudio Focus 260 | Schiit Modi2 Multibit (Black) | NAIM SuperNait 2
Cables: Chord Cobra VEE3 RCA>DIN | Tellurium Q Black 3M

Past HiFi: Dynaudio Excite X16 | Dynaudio Focus 160 | Harman Kardon HK3490 | NAIM XS2 (70w)

I was just wondering if anyone posting here has heard the excite 44?
What I find interesting is the excite 44 is rated down to 27hz,while the focus 380 WAS at 35 hz.
I like the fact that they are 89db sensitive, and how close to the focus 380 would they be?Otto?Anyone notice the price of Original,Prince vinyl...gone through the roof would be an understatement. Is it me,or have they recently changed the Dynaudio website?

I was originally going to get the X44's (only heard the X38's though) then I found the deal on the 340's and got those instead. They do have the new 20W75 drivers, so most likely they are more efficient and can play lower. I've seen different figures for the 380, anywhere from 35 to 30.

They have been working on their site quite a bit since the beginning of the year.

They have been working on their site quite a bit since the beginning of the year.

Yonson: I did the same thing. I went and heard the excite X36 and then Otto mentioned that Focus line is going out and I ended up buying Focus 260s and it was the best decision. :-)
