As mentioned before, I have absolutely no experience with amps prior and still don't know exactly what I'm looking for so wanting to ask the more experienced members out there. Running currently a 7.1 off a Pioneer Elite SC-502 which advertises 120 W/ch (8 ohms, 1 kHz, 0.08 %, 2 ch Driven FTC). Would love to hear experiences or thoughts on the below if anyone has paired with B&W or if end of the day just not worth it at all. Also to note, guessing McIntosh is probably more than I'm willing to pay.

Option 1: I have Best Buy pushing a Rotel 5 ch 600w or 1000w amp suggesting I bi-amp the 702 towers and run the other to the HTM1. No experience with bi-amp so not sure if this is really worth it or not. I can get a heavy discount on Rotel if that factors in the equation. I keep hearing people mention Rotel with B&W.

Option 2: Would be paying full price for Parasound A31 for a 3 channel. 5 ch is probably pushing what I want to spend.

Option 3: Emotiva XPA-3 or XPA-5 pending 3 channel or better off 5 ch and bi-amping towers. Have read on boards these have been reported as harsh with B&W.

Option 4: Marantz 700W 5 channel. Once again bi-amp plus can get it discounted.
Option 1: Rotel amps are ok but skip biamp not gonig to gain anything in this case. Read up on fools biamping and learn why.
Option 2: These are considered pretty good. 3 channel version might be ok
Option 3: Emotiva are harsh in my opinion. Total waste of money dont buy this.
Option 4: Again probably ok choice but biamp waste. If you want it as a 3 channel maybe ok.

My suggestion is to pass on the amp until you can afford something like an MC303. Otherwise I think the return is going to be very small if noticeable at all. If you're dead set on anything, I think a 3 channel parasound is the best in this list.

Video: JVC RS4500 135" screen in pure black room no light, htpc nvidia 1080ti.
Audio: Anthem mrx720 running 7.1.4, McIntosh MC-303, MC-152, B&W 802d3 LR, B&W HTM1D3 center, B&W 805d3 surround, B&W 702S2 rear, B&W 706s2 x 4 shelf mounted for atmos, 2 sub arrays both infinite baffle: 4x15 fi audio running on behringer ep4000 + 4x12 fi audio running on 2nd ep4000.

i replaced pressed in tweeters recently on my 703, so it's not too bad actually:

there is a lot of google and also assembly drawings to help and guide you on how to replace the tweeter

The other one moves a very, very tiny bit, but not nearly as much as the other.

I haven't tried taking the thing all the way off, and am afraid to try as I don't want to break anything. I would like to put down some type of adhesive though, any recommendations on how I might do this, and what might be better options for the glue/adhesive to use?

I really haven't ever noticed this while listening...maybe I should just let it be.

Ah good to know. Also nice to see B&W has a solid catalog of parts to order. These are leaps and bounds the nicest speakers I've ever owned, I'll have to work up the courage to attempt to dismantle the tweeter pod

805S 30 inch speaker stands

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some stand recommendations for the 805S that are 30 inches (I have the B&W stands that go with the speakers). I recently moved them to surrounds, and they are just too low on the B&W stands.

I appreciate any suggestions people make, I'm worried about the top plate being small on some of these stands on see Amazon.

Thanks!

Use the spikes on the stands to angle the tweeters so they are directed towards ear height. That should do it. I have a Herman Miller Eames chair for my listening seat, a notoriously low chair. Adjusting the spikes on all my speakers (803 D3s, HTM2 D3, and 805 D3s) solves all my issues perfectly.

I’m pretty excited as work continues on my first “real” Theater system built on B&W speakers. Here’s my equipment list. Install should be complete end of the week. I’m stoked to hear how my three fronts sound when driven by the MC303. It should be epic. This amp is a monster in every sense of the word and seems the perfect amp for driving the 803D2’s and the HTM2D3.

McIntosh MI254 (dig amp)
McIntosh MC303 (SA Amp)
McIntosh MPC500 (conditioner)
Marantz AV8805 (processor)

B&W CWM7.4 (X2)
B&W 803D2 (X2)
B&W HTM2D3 (center)

Very nice gear. If it were mine I might refrain from taking it out of the boxes until all the dust was settled....and cleaned up.

It looks like parts of the room are still under construction.

Just placing equipment. There’s no construction at all. Old room with new equipment. No dust or anything. Just messy while work continues.

I made a thread for a buying advice but I figured I would get better response on a BW owner thread. So here is my situation.

I'm debating between following two setup for my LCR.

• BW 603 Tower + BW HTM6 (But this is proving to be difficult since I want the white version and HTM6 in white seems to be out of stock everywhere I look.)

• BW 707 S2 Bookshelf + BW HTM72 S2

With FS0700 S2 stands (I could go with something cheaper, but the stand matches the speaker aesthetics and look nice), 700 series option would be about 100 more than 600 series option.

I will be using a subwoofer (most likely SVS PC-2000) since I'll be watching a lot of movies with the setup. Which do you think is the better choice? I kind of like the idea of having a tower for 2.0 music listening and I think they'd look cleaner than having stands. But for movie use with subwoofer, I don't know if it's worth having a tower. Between high end of 600 and low end of 700, what do you think is the better choice?

PS. I have heard 603 in person. I have not heard 707.

I think you have already heard the speaker you want, and hearing the 707 is going to be a disappointment.

The only qualifier would be that if you envisioned growing the system within a few years you might get the 707's now with the intent of moving them to surround duty when you get the 703 or 702 floorstanders after a couple years of saving up.

Hello fellow B&W users,

I am looking to get 4 Atmos in-celing speakers for my setup and was wondering what you would recommend. I was looking between 6" CCM 662, 8" CCM 682, and 8" CCM 683.

I will be pairing them with 6 B&W 685 S2 bookshelf speakers for 7 channel bed. Amps will be 200W / channel Rotels(RMB-1585 -5x200 + [3] RB-1582 MKII 2x200)

Thanks!

Display: LG 65" OLED C7P + OPPO UDP-203 4K UHD Blu-ray Player
Processor: Marantz AV8802a & Dual DDRC-88a BM 7.4.4 ATMOS Setup
Speakers: L,R,SR,SL,SBR,SBL - B&W 685s2's + Center - B&W HTM61s2 + Front & Rear Heights - B&W 686s2's
Amps: (3) Marantz MA700's + (8) Marantz MA500's Subs: (4) SVS PC-2000's
